(Hehehe Lucas above. 😏 Anyways I just wanted to say there will be one more chapter after this one and an epilogue! I know it sucks, but I'll be starting a Niall Horan fanfiction next and I'm really excited! Anyways, here's the chapter.)

***LUCAS' POV***

I heard a scream. Her scream. Even though she had hurt me beyond measure, my mind went in a frenzy at the blood curdling yell. My hands found Krylan's back and I shoved him out of the way. He fell down onto the floor, but I didn't even look at him. I knew he would catch up anyways.

I started running in the direction I heard it from. But it was hard to tell now, though because everything was silent. Krylan should be catching up in three, two,--

"Why'd you shove me like a mad man?"

Oh, no. Without thinking, my arms gripped his shirt and slammed him against the nearest wall. His purple eyes shown fear. The eyes of a traitor, my own brother. I pulled him up off the wall and slammed him into it again. Just in case he didn't get the message the first time.

I leaned in and looked him straight in those devious eyes, "If anything, and I mean anything happens to her, you're going to pay. Even if she fell down and scraped her little leg." Krylan nodded and pushed off of him and started my hunt again. And yet again he had the audacity to speak.

"You can't just use me as a punching bag for all you're problems, L," he laughed. What the hell? Why is he laughing? We are literally under 30 minutes away from death because of him.

"Do you think this is a joke," I spat. I turned the corner. The hallway faintly smelt of smoke, but I didn't know what could be burning. This hallway was made up of bricks. It didn't take me long to mentally slap myself at the huge hint the smoke gave me. Duh, Lucas. She's probably burning the whole place down. I couldn't help the small smile that appeared on my face.

That's my girl, I thought.

"Of course I don't, Lucas. I know I messed up. But I can't go back. I'm not going to let anyone hurt her," he mumbled softly. I took a quick glance over to him and he had his head bowed, fingers twisted together. A laugh escaped my mouth because he resembled a spoilt toddler.

Krylan quickly unlaced his hands and stuck them under his armpits. Then he put a stiff face on. Haha, too late brother. I already saw your little look. Then I stopped my actions. He doomed us all, he went behind my back. And I'm laughing at him, with him even.

My mouth dropped into a snarl and I got defensive again. "You don't get it Krylan! You've killed us all!" He dropped his head again, and this time he didn't dare speak again.

We rounded the corner and that's when I saw it. The busted open wooden doors. Some bits and pieces of it were on fire. And as for the foyer, well, it was all smoked out. But I could make out a few twisted figures through it. Now that the handcuffs were off me, I could use my powers. So I tuned into whatever I heard.

"She just came busting up into the room, demanding King Baleo's presence," something said. Kaler, I assume by the way it's talking.
"Now that she knows the truth about what her little boyfriend did, she's having a come apart," another said.
"She could've killed him, but now I won't be surprised if he kills her," someone said. That someone being Ria.

My heart dropped and I stopped listening. I turned to Krylan, who looked like he was in quite a lot of pain I might add. My eyebrows scrunched together as he started to fall down. I caught him under his armpits and quietly layed him onto the floor. "Kry? Krylan? What's wrong?"

No response.

He just bared his teeth and started to claw at his chest. That's when I noticed the faint glow from underneath his shirt. Sweat was rolling down his face and coating his body. And his body started twitching from side to side. I tried to pin him down but it was no use. Krylan grabbed his shirt, and with one hard tug, it flew off. Revealing to me a glowing, infected symbol carved into my big brothers chest.

My eyes widened in horror as Krylan screamed. Thunder echoed through the hallway even though I knew we were far away from any storm. He started to breathe heavily and I looked around the corner again to find the Kalers running straight towards us. Great. I turned back to Krylan.

"I'll be right back," I said. Not knowing if he could hear me or not. I flew around the corner just in time for my fist to connect into a Kalers face. It's nasty blood shot onto my face, and I used the distraction to step around it and swiftly snap its neck. That's one down. The other one manages to get a hit on me, but I deflect the other one and give him a roundhouse kick to the face.

My hand finds the sword strapped to his side and I plunge it into the Kalers chest. That's two down. My eyes trail up to find Ria's. She killed your mother, I thought, Her father killed yours. Hatred floods my veins and strike up at her with a palm hill. Immediately, she falls back and onto the ground. Haha, weakling. I walk up to her with my signature smirk carved into my face.

"Hey, sis," I take another step towards her, and she scurries backwards. Blood flowing from her nose. "Night, sis," I smiled. With that, I shoved her head against the floor. And it was lights out after that. Don't ever say I didn't put my sister to bed.

After I'm finished, I run back over to find Krylan clawing his way up the wall. I loop an arm under him and he leans heavily against me. At least he seemed liked he had somewhat got a grip. Even though blood was seeping through the symbol on his chest. "I can feel them, L," he wheezed, "They're close." My eyebrows scrunched together yet again.

"Who, Kry?"

"The lost souls," he spluttered. That's when I decided to kick it into full gear towards the burning wooden doors. I was practically dragging Krylan like some oversized suitcase. As we neared the door, I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know if we could change fate, or if we could fix this. But I knew we had to try.

While Krylan's deep breathes motivated me, we finally made it to the door. I drug us through, coughing as the smoke reached my lungs. When I regained my vision, I saw a small blonde rocking on the floor with her hands over her ears, talking to herself. Sapphire.  And Baleo, slowly rising from a pool of his own blood to hover over Sapphire. But I knew he heard Krylan's breathing when he cocked his head and slowly turned our way.

His face was definitely swollen, but his powers have been healing him, and I guess he could see now judging by the sadistic smile on his face. Baleo stretched his arms out and fully faced us.

"Well, just look at this reunion!"
