*****LUCAS' POV (point of view)*****

I was downstairs lifting weights when I heard her.

It was barely there. Just a small, troubled whisper. But it was enough. I threw the weights down and rushed upstairs. The distance between downstairs and the front door wasn't that far. Especially for me. But it felt like centuries. And I knew what those were like.

Throwing the front door open, I ran out. And she lay there at me feet. Her body was spasming and her eyes were rolled to the back of her head. A pain wound through my heart seeing her like this.
"Oh, Sapp," I muttered. Quickly, I put one arm around her back and one under her legs.

It was awful seeing her like this. It hurt in ways I didn't know. After I got inside I layed her down on the black couch. I knew what I had to do now. The poison wouldn't kill her but it would mess her up. I knew she was powerful but not this powerful. After several minutes of pacing, I grabbed my phone. I wasn't supposed to make calls. It was easier to track me that way. I only had one number. And the times I called were very rare and very important.

This was one of those times.

I dialed the number and waited for an answer. He picked up on the second ring.

"Yes?"
"Look, I need you over here immediately," I said.
"Is it important?"
I looked over to her helpless body, "Of course."
"I'm already here."

I turned to see my purple eyed friend standing in the doorway. A big goofy smile lit his face. "Long time no see, Sweet Cheeks," he said. A French accent wound through his words and I couldn't help but have a small smile at the familiar sound. But my smile dropped and so did his when he peeked around me. "What happened," he asked as he carefully walked towards her.

My hand ran through my hair, "Somehow she got into the Protective Poison Barrier around the house. And she made it up to the door." My friends fierce eyes turned towards me. "You have to be careful Lucas! You know they'll find us. Especially if it's her." "I was careful! I don't even know how she found-." I trailed off. I remembered on my way home. Her thoughts seemed so close but I thought it was because I was so used to hearing them.

"Damn," I muttered. She was good, real smart. Smarter than I gave her credit for. She tailed me, she had to. My friend looked at me with a knowing look, "She tailed you." He started laughing. "A pathetic human tailed you! Well half human at least." My blood started boiling and I gripped his shirt, making him face me. "Fix her."

"Excuse me?" "You heard me. Fix her. Make the poison go away and erase her memory of tailing me." He was dead serious now, "L, it's not my place to make to poor girl forget." I went to crouch down by Sapphire. She wasn't jerking anymore. I let my fingertips gently trail across her face and pushed her hair out of her face. "I don't care. She doesn't need to know anything. Not yet. Do it now, she's about to wake up." He sighed and brought up the power from deep within him.

"Are you sure about this," he asked, pushing power to his hands.

I laced my fingers through hers. And wiped a tear leaking from her eye.

"Just do it."

*****SAPPHIRE'S POV*****

I woke to Wheel in the Sky winding through my ears.

It felt like I just got thrown across a wall about 20 times. My surroundings were unfimiliar. Black couch underneath me. White floors. Black walls. White chair across from me.

And Lucas' smiling face above me.

He smiled, "Hi there."

I jumped but I looked more like a fish out of water. Lucas put two of his fingers above my heart and gently pushed me back down. "Easy now, Love. You took quite a tumble," he mumbled. "But-," I whispered. He cut me off by putting his finger on my lip. It was ice cold. "Just lay there. I'll go get you some water," he smiled. I tried to bite his finger but he pulled it away too quick.
