Rocky's POV

Rayne still held my hand as we made our way down to the office to sign out. We went into the office and Rayne gave Mr. Bruno the nurse's note, and we signed out. Good thing everyone was in class, and that Riker was helping with a class right now. We quickly made our way into the band room, and saw Riker hooking apms up. He turned around and saw us, "Hey guys, whatca doing here?"

"I have to go to the doctors and get stiches, again." Rayne said.

"I thought-," he looked over and saw her face and grimaced. "Woah, what happened?"

"I'll tell you tonight, but can we borrow your car?" she asked.

"Yeah," he pulled his keys out and threw them to me, I caught them.

"Thanks Riker." she said.

"Anytime." he said, he turned back to the amps and we left the building heading towards the car. I got in the drivers side and Rayne got in the passengers seat, I pulled out of the parking lot and we made our way to the doctors office.

We went in, and she walked up to the desk. "Uh, hello. I'm Rayne Love from Lincoln High."

A nurse in pink scrubs looked up. "Yes, your school called. Stitches?"

She looked at Rayne's check, "Yeah, got hit by a soccer ball." She said as the nurse lead us down the hall into a white room.

"Yeah, Dr. Calum will be with you shortly." She walked out of the room.

"I'm probably going to have to wear the stitches to the dance. Are you sure you still want to go with me?" She said.

"Of course, you'll look beautiful with or without the stitches." I took her hand and lightly squeezed it. Tears formed in her eyes.

"You really think that?" She asked

"I don't think it, I know it." I said, she blushed and looked down.

When she looked back up at me she said, "Thanks Rocky, I don't know what I did to deserve a great friend like you."

"We've been friends for life, and nothing will change that." I hugged her. I stood by her, hand in hand when the doctor came in.

"Yes, yes I see I'll need to do at least 10 stitches." He moved and tilted her face to examine it more closely. "I'll need to numb it first."

"No," Rayne said. " I'm allergic to it."

"Okay, well do you want me to just do it?"

She gripped my hand tighter, "Yeah just do it."

He got out the medical needle and thread. I honestly don't know how she could just let someone sew up her face, she was the bravest person I knew. I haven't really seen her cry only when it's over something important.

Rayne shut her eyes, the doctor started to sew the skin. I could tell she was biting her tounge. When the finished sewing her cheek the doctor gave her pain medication and sleeping pills.

"Take the meds in the morning, lunch, and take sleeping pills at night." The doctor said to Rayne. She jumped down from the cot and came over to me.

The doctor continued, "Come back Friday morning and I'll take them out."

"Okay, thanks." She said and we left.

We walked into the house and my mom rushed over, "What happened?"

"I'll explain to everyone." she said and we went into living room. Everybody was there, I leaned on the threshold. Rayne stood in front of everyone and explain everything that happened in the past few days.

". . . I'm getting them out Friday morning." she finished. So they'll be out for the dance, I still can't believe she said yes when I asked her. It kinda just slipped out this morning. Rydel dragged Rayne up to her room, and Riker, Ross, and Ryland dragged me up to mine.

Rayne's POV

"Rydel why are you dragging me up here?"

We got into her room and she shut the door, "Ross told us that Rocky asked you to the dance. Is it true?"

"Yes." I said, Rydel squealed and hugged me while jumping.

"Finely, we thought he would never get the courage."

"We?" I asked.

"Riker and I. Rocky likes you Rayne. He told Riker, and Riker told me. You should make your move at the dance Friday."

Wow, was she telling the truth?

She is his sister, she'd know.

Yeah, but they just could be getting me to ask him.

Oh, just grow a pair and date him.

Okay, now I was arguing with myself. Great, I'm going insane.
