Chapter 13

Rayne's POV

It was Thursday afternoon, Music class was finishing up when Rydel came over to me.

"Hey, Rayne. Want to go dress shopping with me?" she asked. I was hanging the guitars back on the wall.

"Yeah, just let me finish hanging these up. Who are you going with Del?" I asked.

"Riker, when we can't find dates we just go as a brother/sister duo."

"Are you sure no guys asked you? Your the definition of beautiful." I said looking down at her from the ladder.

"Some asked me, but the were dochebags."

"Oh, what about Riker?"

"I don't know. Ryland's going with Lexi. Ross. . . I think he's going with Jamie."

"Oh my God, Ryland and Lexi are going together! I knew it!" I put the last guitar up and climbed down the ladder.

"I know, he asked her yesterday. I thought she was going to die."

"So you were there?"

"Maybe. . ."

"Gosh Del, your such a snoop." I punched her playfully on her upper arm.

"So what's up with you and my brother?" she asked as we walked out of the building to her car.

"Which brother?" I asked.

"Rocky." she said in a 'duh' tone.

"Just making sure. Well, were friends and were going to the dance. As friends." I said as I got in the passengers side.

I heard Rydel say under her breath, "Doesn't mean you'll leave as friends."

I hit her arm, "I heard that."

"Well it's true. Ross and I made a bet."

"Wow, I fell so loved. I've been betted on ." I said sarcastically.

"So what kind of dress are you looking for?"

"I was kinda hoping I didn't have to wear a dress, or heels." I said.

"Well, you have to, but don't worry. Kelly and I have a plan for tomorrow."

"What is it?"

"I'll explain at home."

She pulled into the outlets. "Okay, we'll get dresses first, then shoes, then accessories, then make up and hair designs."

"Sounds like a plan." I said.

"And I need a different outfit for Saturday." she said.

"Why?"

"R5 is playing at a radio show, the new song Rocky wrote." she said.

"He never mentioned anything." I said.

"Don't know why."

We walked into the first store, Rydel got a beautiful white dress but I didn't see anything that I liked. We moved on, at the next store Rydel started to get the parts for her outfit for Saturday. Dark blue ripped skinny jeans, black belt, and a fancy black shirt. I got silver short heels, Rydel got white boots and awesome black boots.

The next store, I finally found the perfect dress. Rydel had picked it out and gave it to me to try, I loved it. it was a soft lavendar color and went to right above my knees, it was fitted till the waist then flowed out and was strapless. There was a sash that went around on the waist with a lose bow on the left side, it was layered and each layer got lighter.
