"I'm sorry, I have no idea who-"
"Save it Rayne. I've already talked to Riker."
"Bec-" she slapped me, pretty hard too. When I looked back at her she had tears brimming her eyes.
"Why, why put us though that. We thought you were dead. Burnt. And Rocky. Don't even get me started. He's devastated. Why won't you just tell him? Are you afraid he'll be mad. 'Cause he will be, not because you had him believe you were dead, it'll be because you didn't tell him."
"Bec, I had to do it. He'll be killed because of me. I'd just put him in danger. I'll hurt him."
"When you love someone, hurt is kinda part of the package."
"Rydel-"
"What about her?"
"After the fight, Rocky was near death. Rydel told me to leave, to never come back. They didn't want me there anymore. I was going to leave, I became someone different. Mary, she didn't kill anybody. Didn't almost get her boyfriend and his family killed. It was better that way. Have him sad and alive, than happy and dead. I never wanted to go back to that dark place where I killed those people. I'm gonna have to do it again. To become her."
"No, you don't."
"I have to end this."
"You need to tell him."
"After I kill my father. He'll be safe then."
"Fine."
"Mary," Sharon spoke up from behind me. "What about those other people at the warehouse?"
"I'll go save them."
"I'll go with you." Bec said.
"No, I can't put you in danger. I won't."
"I want to."
"Why?"
"I want to see a happy ending."
"I'll go too, I know where there are." Sharon said.
"We might have to fight. We may even be killed."
"We might not." Bec said.
"Gear up then."
I grabbed a knife stuck it, in my boot, a bow, slung it onto my back along with a quiver of arrows, and an ax. Bec grabbed a katana and knife, Sharon grabs my crossbow and machete.
"Do you even know how to use it?"
"Yep. Hunting."
"Okay."
We went out into my back yard.
"It's better if we go though the woods, quicker too, cut our travel time in half. Plus it'll be less likely we'll be seen."
"Hey!" I turned around and saw too figures jogging towards us. Riker and Ross.
"What the hell guys? Where are you going? To war?"
That was a pretty acurate guess.
"Riker, Ross. Go home." Bec said.
"No, we're going with you." Riker looked at me. "You're going after your dad aren't you?"
"I have to end this. It's gone on too long." I said.
"Ross and Ell know. They know it's you. Rydel is close to figuring it out."
I handed him my ax and Bec handed Ross the knife.
"Only use them to hurt not kill." I didn't want them to have the same burden I do.
We arrived at the warehouse. Having a group made it 10x harder to be in and out. Sharon lead us to the holding cells. Riker and Ross stood guard as we went down into the basement to release the people.
"There's less people here than before." Sharon whispered to me.
"And there's no guards. This is too fishy. Somethings going on." Bec whispered.
"I know. Sharon we're would they take them?"
"I don't know they never took me any were."
"Yeah! You! Please get me out of here!" a girl yelled to us.
"Shh, be quiet. We'll get you out but you need to be quiet. What's your name?"
"Ashia." she said quietly.
"Were did they take the other people?"
"To the main room, for the fights."
Bec and Sharon were freeing the few other people as I talked to Ashia.
"Fights?"
"To see who's the strongest. To be warriors. They train us, then they take us to the fights."
"God, this is sick." I said.
"Bec, Sharon. Get these people out. I'm going to take the boys and find out were these fights are."
"Not so fast Rayne." a chilling voice said from behind me. I turned around slowly and saw Derrick holding a knife to Ross' thoart, Riker was knock out at his feet.
"Were gonna have a little talk."
Oh, could this day get any worse?!
