"Don't be too mad when I win, okay?" Ryder said as I tutored him that afternoon.

"Excuse me?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"When the boys win the competition. Don't be too mad, okay? I mean, it's obvious we're gonna win." he said, cockily. I scoffed.

"Are you sure about that? I mean, the girls have a pretty rocking performance ready." I said.

"Oh yeah? What song do you guys have picked?"

"Can't tell you that. It's a secret."

"In other words, you don't have a song picked out."

"Uh, yes we do!" I argued. "What about you boys? Do you have something picked out?"

"Maybe. Maybe not." he replied. "I mean, we have possibilities, but no one can agree on anything. Artie want to do rap, Blaine wants to do Katy Perry, Jake is no help at all, Sam wants to do country. It's all so confusing."

"What about Cruise?" I suggested. I know, I know, I'm giving the enemy a song idea. But Ryder wasn't my enemy. He's my boyfriend. If they need help, might as well help them. We're still gonna win anyways.

"What about it?" he said.

"Like, as a song. It's country, but it's also popish. And if Artie wants to rap, you guys can do the Nelly version."

Ryder thought about this for a second before saying, "You're a genius!" and kissing my forehead. I giggled.

"Thanks. I try." I said.

"Yo! M!" Kitty called into the library. Ryder and I looked over at her. "Come on. We're practicing!"

"But, I'm tutoring Ryder." I said.

"It's okay. We're going over to Blaine's to brainstorm ideas anyways." Ryder said. "Thanks for the idea. I'll mention it. Hopefully they'll actually listen."

"No problem. Text me, okay?" I said. He nodded and kissed my cheek. We collected our things and left the library. Kitty gave me a look as Ryder walked away.

"Idea?" she asked. "What idea?"

"I suggested they do Cruise." I said. "He said they were having trouble because they all have different tastes and that one is good for everyone."

"Well, no matter what they sing, we're gonna win this."

We linked arms and continued down the hall and to the choir room.

*Ryder's POV*

We met up at Blaine's house. As usual, everyone was arguing about what song to do. Jake and I sat on the bed, watching as it unfolded.

"Why can't we do Katy? They'll never expect that!" Blaine said.

"We have to do songs by boys, Blaine." Sam said. "Listen, tomorrow is the competition and we don't know what song we're gonna do."

"What about Cruise?" I finally said. Everyone looked at me.

"What'd you say?" Artie asked.

"What about the song Cruise? It's got a bit of everything. Pop, country, rap. I mean, it's perfect."

Everyone looked at each other before Sam spoke up.

"That's genius!"

I let out a sigh of relief. Finally, we had a song picked and we were gonna start practicing. We were definitely gonna beat the girls.

*Marcia's POV*

Jonathan, the guitar player in the band, helped me tune up my guitar. It had been a while since I played it.
