A/N: Yeah...here I am again. Thank you to anyone who read the A/N. Just wanted to say thanks! Anyways, here is a bonus chapter, not exactly chapter 9. For those of you who were wondering how long Casper and Viviana stretched back into their childhoods. So basically, how Casper, Viviana and Rosaline know each other. Warning: Levana has just become queen for a little while. Casper, Viviana are all 12 years old. Enjoy. This is part one of bonus chapters, more to come if someone requests :D
"Open the door you weirdo!" Casper moaned, drawing back and hitting the closed door with his fist then reeling back with a scowl. "I'm only twelve years old and you expect me to break down this door?"
"I'm not asking you to do anything other than go away."
"Viviana, I can maybe dent this thing but I can still scream my lungs out." Casper backed away a few couple feet, tensed his shoulders, then threw himself onto the closed door. Casper rolled away with a grunt, slumping down to the floor. "Ouch."
The door swung open. "Geez, you could have told me you were that desperate."
"I thought you could tell from my tone," Casper groaned as he laid his head back to the wall. Viviana poked her head out, rolling her dark blue eyes. Casper blinked sheepishly at her. "can you uh, drag me in?"
Viviana snickered. "I guess I could." she tiptoed from her room, latched her fingers underneath Casper's arms then slowly pulled him inside her room. Viviana let go, then twisted around to slam the door. She whipped out a brass key and locked the door.
Casper was staring at her with widened eyes. "So...what's wrong with you?"
Viviana ignored him, choosing to tie her copper red hair into a messy ponytail instead. "Nothing," she finally answered.
"Viana, I know something's wrong. Why else would you shut your best friend out?" Casper pouted, running a hand back through his dark brown hair, light blue eyes glimmering with a subtle challenge.
"Maybe because I felt like it?" Viviana retorted, leaping gracefully onto her bed and flopping back against the fluffy pillows. Casper got up to his feet and perched on the end of the bed whilst Viviana glared at him halfheartedly, fingers curling around the patterned duvet.
"It's about that dinner last night, right?" Casper guessed.
Viviana's face twisted into a scowl. "My mother was being unreasonable. I had every right not to agree to her circumstances."
"I don't think you understand the amount of power she's offering?" Casper frowned.
"I know exactly what she said," her voice dropping into a warning growl. "and I'm not interested in the money."
"Being a member of Artemisian courts, I thought you would be."
Viviana set her jaw, glancing away. "Okay, whatever." she muttered. "Can we please change the subject about politics?" her eyes hardened. "I'm starting to regret why I let you in in the first place."
Casper reeled back, palms up in surrender. "Alright, alright. How about we go do something fun?" he offered instead as Viviana stared at him, suspicion flitting across her face.
"Your definition of fun is not mine."
"Oh, come on!" Casper whined. "You're not fun at all. Uptight lady."
Viviana narrowed her eyes. "Keep in mind you're in the 'uptight lady''s room and she could throw you out."
Casper rolled his eyes. "Threats, threats threats," he sang, jumping off the bed and waltzing towards the arched window in Viviana's room. "Your parents are out for the banquet tonight already," his eyes glinted. "how about we sneak out? You're always so busy being the good girl your sense of fun has basically been drained." he shuddered for good effects.
