CINDER

She'd never felt anything like it.

The overpowering urge to succumb to what someone else wanted, like a dummy played with strings.

It was so similar to the way Levana had taken control over Cinder's limbs.

Cinder looked up frantically, dazed. She hadn't been under Lunar influence since the war, when she and Levana had grappled to win the war between them. A girl she'd never seen before stood in front of her, stance aggressive. She didn't recognize her. The stranger had dark brown hair, striking green eyes, but it was the hatred in the green gaze that shocked--and confused her to the very core.

Alert. Bioelectricty manipulation detected. Activating chip now.

The words flashed quickly in her synthetic eye, and she let out a breath of relief. Cinder stared at the girl, trying to pinpoint who she was. Cinder tried to take a step forward, but something was holding her down. Keeping her limbs frozen, and Cinder's eyes widened when she realized the other girl already had control over her.

Kai looked wild, his eyes never leaving Cinder. "Clover, please don't do this. Don't you dare hurt her--"

Clover didn't even spare him a glance, before his jaw clicked shut and Kai couldn't speak any longer. Even as grave the situation was, Cinder was impressed by the steady control the girl held over them both. Clover? That was her name. Cinder frowned, racking through her brain, trying to think of when she had met a 'Clover' and transpired such a mortal enemy.

"Who are you?" Cinder whispered. At least she could still speak.

Clover's face hardened. "You don't know, do you? We've never met before. But you sure had a huge impact on my life," She said. Her fingers flexed, and Cinder knew she had to play this game right, before she winded up dead with Kai.

"No, I don't."

Clover shrugged. "Well I'm here for two reasons. One, my Mistress will be delighted to know her sister will be avenged. I'm here to give you the same death Sybil Mira suffered. And two, I'll have fun doing it because my father died for your cause and so basically you took two very important people away from me and Mistress." Clover shot her a dark smile. "You played the wrong game, Cinder."

She cringed on hearing the words Sybil Mira. She stole a glance at Kai, whose eyes were glittering with well-deserved fear. She steeled her nerves, taking a deep breath. She, on the other hand, was undoubtedly confused. "Your father? I'm sorry if I had any part to play in his death but I don't recall ever meeting your father." Cinder tried to explain, sounding genuine.

Cinder didn't want this to go down in bloodshed, especially when Kai was in the middle of it all. She knew that one slip of mistake, Clover could turn around and snap his neck. She clenched her hand into a fist, willing herself not to panic.

Cinder gritted her teeth and attempted to move her left leg, but as expected-Clover's power forced her to stay put. Why wasn't the chip working? By now it was supposed to repel any bioelectric manipulation forced onto her, and yet....Clover had managed to break through. A hysteria of panic snaked into her gut and she swallowed, nervously.

Clover narrowed her eyes. "Alpha Strom. One of the Wolf Mutant Soldiers in Queen Levana's armies. He came to the battle for your cause, to re-instate you as Queen of Luna, where he died." Clover's hands trembled, and her eyes blazed. "He was my father, and you took him away from me."
