The trip to the Land of Iron was uneventful to say the least. Temari and I only talked officially, who was scouting, who was taking watch at night, things of that nature. Past that we didn't speak to each other. Gaara stayed out of it, but would talk to me at times when Temari would be sleeping. I volunteered to stay up each night to watch since I don't sleep often. The summit started as soon as the remaining Kage arrived and the tension could be cut with a kunai. I don't know what they're worked up about, but it's bad. I'm standing on Gaara's right with Temari on the left, the other Kage's seated around table with their bodyguards behind them as well. Once things calm enough for anything to really be understood, I hear my brother's name mentioned. Ah, I'd forgotten that Gaara told me that he was involved. Someone mentions someone else's name, I wasn't paying close enough attention to hear them exactly, but immediately the Raikage starts shouting. All of us bodyguards get into a ready stance, the tension fueling the urge to defend our leaders. A starts in about the other Kage's, blaming each of them for the Akatsuki rising to power. I personally don't believe any of them are responsible. The Akatsuki is powerful on their own, I just doubt that Pein is the true leader. He's strong and a good leader, but someone is pulling the strings above him. No one else seems to be intelligent enough to do it though.
Everyone jumps in surprise as a large green plant bud appears in the middle of the room. The guards jump onto the table to block the Kage as it unfolds to reveal White Zetsu? He tells us that Sasuke is near and A latches his hand around Zetsu's neck while asking about Sasuke. Zetsu doesn't answer him and looks over at me instead, causing me to look away. A snaps his neck before storming out with his guards. The sounds of fighting reach us and I resist the urge to rush into it. He's my brother but I won't hesitate to take him down if it comes to it. Gaara leaves the room, causing Temari and I to rush after him. When we enter the area, the bodies of the Iron's guards are strewn around and A is injured pretty badly. Gaara speaks up, wanting to talk to Sasuke. Temari and I stay at the ready while Gaara tries to convince Sasuke to change sides. The look in Sasuke's eyes shocks me. From my stay with Orochimaru, I'd known that Sasuke had changed drastically but I still didn't expect it. Gaara, Temari, and A's bodyguard begin to attack him but Sasuke isn't affected at all. This isn't good. I finally convince them all to stand back and let me handle this. As I step forward, a confident smirk crosses his face.
"The failure thinks she can defeat me? How cute."
"You'd be surprised at what I'm capable of, Onii-chan. I don't particularly want to kill you, but I'll do what I must to stop this mess." I lash out at him with a sound explosion that he easily counters. "You are the last remaining Uchiha, you got your wish. You killed Itachi and avenged the clan. Do you really want to see that legacy die out because you're too consumed by hatred and power? You're being used and you will die one way or another."
He scoffs and his hand starts to light up with the chidori. "You don't know what you're talking about, Failure. You can't stop me. All I have to do is kill you again and you'll be out of my way long enough to do what I have to."
"Bring it on, Onii-chan."
He runs at me and I flip over him, missing the jutsu and focusing a column of flame toward him. He dodges it and swings a lightning blade toward me. It cuts into my arm but I pull back fast enough to avoid losing the limb. I focus my thoughts and pull a column of dirt from the ground and trap him inside, much like with Gaara's sand coffin, then force my water abilities to come forward too, using it to push into the bubble to fill it. Sasuke breaks through a moment later and I bring fire into focus as well, surrounding him in a blazing ring. I curse as a large fire dragon comes out of the flames and straight toward me. I plant my feet firmly on the ground and create a water dragon to mimic it. They clash, casting the room in a cloud of steam, rendering everyone sightless. Lighting crackles in front of me and I use my sound to knock him back as far as I can. The dragons fade out and I try to pinpoint Sasuke without sight and fail, so I snap my fingers and the moisture dissipates instantly. Sasuke is next to me, his eyes red from the Sharingan and I instantly close my eyes. The last thing I need to do is be trapped in that.
"You can't fight me with your eyes closed, Imouto."
The taunting tone in his voice makes me growl in annoyance and lash out at him with fire. I feel him move and follow the sound vibrations to track his movements as I attack. Our moves counter each other viciously, both of us attacking with intent to kill. Vaguely I can hear someone calling for backup for me, but Temari and Gaara call them off.
"Your father would've been interested to know that you could power the different elements like he'd wanted."
"So he's dead? That's wonderful. Maybe in a minute you can send my regards."
I feel him behind me and whirl around in time to feel a burning sensation rip through my stomach.
"Tell him yourself, Imouto."
I open my eyes and find the lightning blade run through me.
"I won't be dead forever. I'll find you and kill you Sasuke." I mutter before trying to attack him again.
He rips the blade upward, ripping it out just under my throat and I drop to the ground. I hear Temari screaming and the ground starting to shake a moment later but I can't stay focused. I've lost too much blood already. Dying really sucks.
