We'd been driving for hours, stopping every once in a while for a toilet break. Calem and I shared a can of spaghetti and each had a sip of our water bottles when we stopped to eat.

"So when do you think we'll find this cabin that you talked about?" I asked Calem once I'd finished my water. "Not sure," he replied, "My parents only talked about the cabin, not how long the journey would take, but we've been driving for ages so I think we'll get there soon."

Calem seemed quite sure of himself and I trusted him completely. I wondered about what we'd find when we got there but pushed the thought away when a problem crossed our path, literally.

There was a massive car pile up right in front of us with no way around. I stopped the car and hopped out to assess the situation. "How are we going to get past?" Calem said as he got out of the car as well.

"I don't know." I replied. "I think we have to leave the car and go through."

Calem nodded then went to the back of the car and opened the trunk. I followed and in a matter of minutes we had all our stuff out of the jeep and onto our backs. We walked towards the car pile up and started to weave our way through the damaged vehicles.

We were about half way through when Calem pointed to something up ahead.

Two badly cut hands were reaching out through a gap in an opened window.

This must have happened when the people driving the cars had gotten infected and could only get some parts of their bodies out opened windows or smashed holes in the windscreen.

Calem moved closer towards me and came up with a solution. "We could jump onto that car next to it to avoid the Grabber and walk across to the other side."

Calem had named the zombie a Grabber, which seemed like as good a name as any. His idea was definitely a good one and I agreed to it without hesitation. "Good idea." I said then we both climbed onto the car.

We got to the other side and saw that there were more Grabbers, so we did the same thing until we got past the pile up of cars.

"Good job!" I told Calem as he jumped of the last car. He gave me a high five then reached into his bag and pulled out a bottle of water. I was pretty out of breath as well so I had some water too.

Moments later we were walking along the road chatting about nothing in particular. I glanced at my watch which read 7:02 and I could see the sun setting in the sky right in front of us.

Calem gasped and pointed to a spot in the distance. I looked over and could see lights in the nearby distance.

We had found it! Calem and I had found the cabin.
