"Damn!" This came from Adam, who had taken his hands off his ears. My hearing had adjusted as well so I removed my hands.

"What is that?" I had to yell because the noise was still very loud. "It's the censor alarm." Replied Adam who was clearly pissed off. "It goes off when something's crossed a certain spot in the forest and is heading towards the camp."

"How long till it shuts off?" Asked Ben. "Well." continued Adam. "You can turn it off on the computers but since they've crashed, it'll take about five minutes to completely shut off."

This wasn't good news. The town was nearby and after five minutes of the siren, I'm sure the zombies will start heading our way. Also, there was something strange about the situation so I decided to say something to the others.

"Doesn't this feel a little weird to you guys? First the computers shut off, then an alarm that can only be turned off via the computers. Something weird is going on."

Laura spoke after I'd finished. "I agree. We need to find out what's going on. The censors are only triggered by a certain size of something. It couldn't be an animal or something because they're too small. It's either humans or zombies."

Laura was a built lady who looked like she could break any of us in half, but she had a soft voice and seemed quite intelligent.

Adam nodded, but when he caught sight of what was behind us, he froze. "What the?" This came from Laura, who ran of as soon as she turned around. A spun quickly and took in what was before me.

The tech tent. It was on fire.

It was already half burnt to the ground once I seized Ben and Adam's hands. I yanked them towards the fire and once they snapped out of their daze I let their hands go.

We sped towards the blazing tent, guns at the ready. The alarm had finally shut off but that was the least of our worries.

Screams filled the smoky air and I glanced around to see that more fires had been started. "What's happene -" I couldn't finish my sentence because something had charged at me and pushed me to the ground.

Something was pushing down on my legs and waist. Once my eyes focused I could make out what was on top of me.

At first, I thought it was a zombie. It was actually a man.

"Stay still little girl." The voice was close to my face and his breath smelt putrid. I squirmed under the weight of the man but he pinned my legs down with he's knees.

"Help!" I shouted but the man grabbed my throat. "No one can help you girl. All your little friends are either dead or in the same situation as you. I suggest you shut your trap or I'll shut it for you. All my gang and I want is your food and weapons and then we'll be on our way."

These people that had invaded our camp, they were Bandits.
