They bashed their fists against the front door, trying to splinter the beige, faded wood. If the humans inside had barricaded the door, it might buy them some time to somehow escape. The zombies were getting more excited and were pushing themselves against the door. There's definitely someone inside.

The sky was turning a darkish blue and a few stars were visible so that meant that most of the zombies around would be active and could probably hear the moans and thumps from the zombies at the house. I could see two more ambling towards the house when I heard the scream.

It was high pitched, probably a woman's and it came from the house. The zombies at the door were starting to break through the door which was clearly not barricaded. The zombies started to enter the house one by one until they were all inside. I could hear the moans of more zombies as they stumbled towards the house.

There was another earsplitting scream moments later which was abruptly cut off by a thump, someone had just lost their life. If they could fight the zombies off long enough, they would reanimate but if the zombies got to the persons head, they would become dinner.

The other zombies coming up the street were getting closer and if the humans didn't get out of there, they'll have a zombie horde on their hands. If whoever was in the house had a weapon, now was the time to use it.

I pulled a granola bar out of my pocket and ripped the wrapper open. I didn't realize how hungry I was until I had pains in my stomach. It was also a good excuse to take my eyes off what was happening at the house. There was a lot more commotion which was attracting more zombies. If there was anyone in there they had to get out. Now.

More screams and I felt the granola bar come back up in my throat. The taste of bile rose and I felt like throwing up. I always hated seeing things get attacked by those monsters but I always ended up watching any way.

This time the screams were deeper, I heard a man scream to someone, "Run!" There must be more people in the house then I expected.

Movement to the right of the house caught my eye and just as I looked over I saw a pair of legs dangle out a window on the side of the house.

Then the rest of the persons body came out and I saw that it was a young boy who, as soon as his feet touched the ground, ran towards a nearby side street, his terrified face never looking back.
