Both of the trucks stopped about 200 meters from the town. Ned said that we couldn't go right near it because the zombies would have heard us.

We all walked down the rest of the road until we were at the back of an old log cabin. There were no zombies near us because we weren't really in the town yet, more on the outside if anything.

I had my tool belt on which was filled with menacing tools that I could kill zombies with. Knives, screwdrivers, crowbars and hammers were just some of the lethal weaponry our group were armed with.

Max pulled out the map I'd seen him with earlier and laid it out in front of all of us. Now that I had a more closer look at it I saw that it was actually a map of the town we were getting the supplies from. It showed routes done in blue, red x's for areas we should avoid and circles for important places.

"I think we should split up into two groups." Ben suggested as we all finished studying the map. "I'll go with Susan and Calem and Ned and Max, you two can take Coco and go together. Does everyone agree?"

It was a very good plan and everyone agreed to it. If we all just ran around together we would draw attention to ourselves but if we split up, we'd have a better chance.

"Great plan." said Ned thoughtfully. "But I think one group should focus on getting one thing and the other getting something else." Everyone nodded then Ned continued. "Max and I will go for the bullets and weapons, you guys will go for some food and any handy supplies. We'll all meet back here around 1:00. No later than twenty minutes past. Clear?"

We all agreed and split up, Ned, Coco and Max one way and Ben, Calem and I the other. We went around one side of the cabin and pressed ourselves against the wall. "What do we do now?" I whispered.
Ahead of us were a whole row of four or so cabins with little paths in the middle. I was starting to think this place was a vacation sight.

Ben didn't answer. He just leaned around the corner then quickly shot back and pressed himself even flatter against the wall. "Zombies." He whispered back to me. I decided to peak around the corner as well but immediately did what Ben did.

There were at least seven zombies right around the corner. Some of them were hunched over, feeding on what looked like a dead animal carcass.

"I've got it." I said to the others, keeping my voice as low as humanly possible. "We get 'em while there down, then Ben can lead the way. Simple."

I knew this was going to be everything but simple but I wanted it to sound as easy as possible to comfort Calem. And myself.

Ben nodded and leaned down to talk to Calem. "This'll be easy buddy if you concentrate. We can't have any screaming or more zombies will come. We'll be able to get rid of them before they realize it if you focus." Calem nodded then held his iron bar at the ready.

Then all three of us slipped around the corner, the world as quiet as our footsteps.
