The place was like a completely different planet compared to our cabin. The amount of humans living here was surprising as well.

As I took in the incredible view I noticed that we were actually looking down at the camp.

A stone path led down to what looked like a small field with vegetables growing in rows. There were also some tents, a huge one in the middle of the camp. The whole place was really large and it was all set up in a clearing surrounded by trees and shrubs. "Max would have loved this place." Said Ben sadly.

Adam beckoned us forward and we all trotted down the stone path. "Wow." Calem whispered excitedly. "This place is huge. How many people are living here?"

"Around fifty." Adam said it with pride and I knew that he was very pleased with how far his camp had come. We had now reached the bottom of the path and Adam led us towards the large tent in the middle.

We walked past some other tents with people ducking in and out of them. They all gave a friendly wave towards us and I smiled. Everyone seemed very nice here and I thought about how the plague had brought so many people together.

We stepped inside the huge tent. We were all surrounded by computers and flashing lights. "This." Adam gestured to the equipment. "This is our tech tent. It's where we watch what's happening in the forest and in the town. That's why we have all those camera's around. It's how we found you guys."

He pointed to one of the screens and I could see the town. There were the cabins, shops and of course, zombies. I decided to speak. I hadn't really said anything so far so I asked a question. "Did you see us when we were in the town?"

A man who I hadn't noticed before had spun around in a swivel chair and answered me.

"Yes, we did. You guys are very brave. I also saw that you had the whole town mapped out. Smart idea." Ben spoke in a soft tone. "It was our friend Max's idea but he's...gone."

Adam looked over in the mans direction and introduced him to us. "This is Joe. He's the camp's tech guy. He watches the computers and alerts us if he see's anything interesting."

Joe smiled our way, then went back to the screen. He had large, square framed glasses, kind eyes and a slim figure. I took a moment to register what Adam actually looked like as well.

He had light brown hair in a crew cut style. His eyes were a deep green and there was some light stubble on his chin. Adam looked in his late twenty's.

"So," said Ben intently, "Do you people rescue anyone or was it just this one time?" Adam let out a light chuckle before he answered Ben.

"I think you'll all come in handy. Everyone here has a purpose. I'm sure we'll find something for you guys to help with. It's good to have more people in the camp." He let out a breath before continuing.

"I think tonight we'll have a little ceremony. Welcome you all into the camp properly. But first, let's get you all settled in."
