"Shoot 'em down!" Adam had ran in front of me and was firing bullets into the heads of the closest zombies. I grabbed a shotgun of the ground and started shooting the undead.

The siren had definitely attracted them, it just took them a while to get here because they were so slow.

By now, everyone had a gun and was firing like crazy. "There's to many of them!" I yelled as they got closer and closer.

"Get to the other side of camp! I'll try to get some supplies!" This was from Laura, who had taken off at lightning speed towards the nearest tents.

As we ran, I reloaded and Coco did her thing. She lead some zombies away from the group and Ben and I shot them down. Calem had a knife and was up the front of the group with Adam.

Soon we had made enough distance to slow to a jog. "Laura better hurry up. Some of the zombies are heading towards the tent she went in." Said Joe nervously.

We all shouted for her to hurry up. Seconds later, Laura emerged from the tent carrying some bags with supplies inside. Once she caught sight of the zombies near her, she sprinted off in our direction.

We slowed to a walk and once she caught up, Ned and Gina took the bags off her while Ben, Adam and I kept shooting. There were still plenty of zombies coming after us but we were nearly at the other side of the camp.

I took a moment to do a quick head count to make sure we weren't missing anyone. Apart from me the survivors were Ben, Calem, Gina, Ned, Laura, Adam, Joe, Brett, Coco and a man and woman I didn't know the name's of. Eleven of us in total.

We had reached the the end of the camp and we quickly entered the forest. "Stop shooting!" Said Adam. "I think we can lose them from here!" I stopped firing and focused on running. The sky had lightened a fair bit and my watch read 7:34.

The moans from behind us had gotten quieter. We were definitely losing the zombies.

After another thirty minutes of running we finally made it out of the forest. We were on a highway. I could see some cars nearby. After we all checked the vehicles for signs of the undead we piled our supplies inside.

Thankfully the keys were in the ignition and the tanks were pretty full. There were also some spare petrol tanks in the back of one of the cars which would come in handy. "Alright, let's get in." I said to the others.

We used three vehicles and sped off quickly before the zombies had a chance to catch up.

Calem, Ben, Adam and I were in one car. Gina, Ned, Laura and Coco in another and Brett and the others in the last one. Adam drove and I sat in the back with Calem asleep on my lap. Ben sat shotgun.

We drove for hours in silence. The weather beautiful, a warm breeze and a clear sky but we didn't stop.

We just kept driving, away from the camp, away from our old lives and away from the horrors of the past.
