"I really don't wanna do this, Dean" Sydney said as she picked up the gun. "Can we please go home" she asked.
"Come on Syd, you can do this, it may make you feel a little safer for if and when I'm not around" Dean said as he showed her how to hold the gun. "Now just point at the target and try your best to hit the center"
Sydney didn't like guns, nor did she ever think she would find herself at a shooting range. But she knew this made Dean happy so she went along with it anyway. "Dean, you know I hate guns" she said as she fired off the first shot. It took her by complete surprise. She knew it would be loud, but she didn't know it would shake her inside. She laid the gun down. "I cant do this, Dean"
Dean took off his protected ear muffs and goggles and laid them on the counter. 'Ok, let's go home' he said as he laid his hand on hers to reassure her everything was going to be ok. 'i don't want you to feel uncomfortable in any way'.
'Thank you, Dean' Sydney said. She and Dean walked out of the shooting range. Sydney stopped when they got to the car and placed her hands and head on the hood and sobbed. 'I never wanted this for my life, i never wanted to be on the run from a man i once loved with my whole heart. I cant believe the mess my life has become!' Sydney screamed into the air as she hit the hood of the car with her fist.
'I don't think you should ever feel bad for letting yourself fall on love with someone, Sydney. I remember when i was in love with your mother' he said with a chuckle. 'That woman made me feel like the sun rose and set when i was with her. The way the moonlight caught her face, i can still remember the feeling of butterflies when i was around her' Dean said as he smiled.
Sydney wiped her eyes. 'You and my mother, you were so happy, what happened' she asked Dean.
'Things change, Syd.' Dean said as he got into the car. He rolled down the window and looked at her. ' now let's get home, I'm starving'
Sydney walked around to the passenger seat. She opened the door and looked back at the shooting range.
This is my life now
