Chapter 1- Welcome home

Briar's pov
I'm so happy! Myles is coming home today! He went to Florida with his family for a month on holiday. A month! He went just as I thought that he was going to ask me out. Oh well, I'm sure that he's going to ask me out today at his surprise party.

Oh yeah, that's what I forgot to mention! The party! Me Devon, Jessy, Abbey, Tanner and Brooklyn have organised a surprise party for Myles at Canadian Dance Company (CDC). It's going to be so much fun! Actually it's in a few hours so, I have to get ready!

Once I finish curling my hair, putting on my makeup and getting changed into my white dress. I check the time and it's three in the afternoon. The party starts in half an hour, which is the time it takes to get to get to CDC so I have to go.

"Mum, Abbey it's time to go!" I yell as I rush downstairs.
Abbey soon follows and my mum is already in the car.
"Ooh Briar, getting all dressed up for Myles are you?" She asks and giggles.
"You're wearing a red dress just like mine! If I didn't know any better, I'd say that you'd be getting dressed up for Devon." I say and she blushes.
"I knew it!" I say and point at her face turning as red as a tomato.
"Come on we can't be late!" She says and we both rush to the car.

After half an hour of driving and my mum singing terribly, we arrive at CDC. The plan was that everyone arrives ten minutes before Myles was supposed to so we could surprise him.
"Bye mum, thanks for the lift!" Me and Abbey say and hug our mother.
"Have fun!" She says and drives off.

Then me and Abbey stare at the building.
"Let's go inside." She says and we walk in through the big door.
"I can't wait to see Myles." I say and do little twirls as we walk up the corridor.
"Oh Briar you'll see him soon! I bet he can't wait to see you and ask you something special." She says and playfully elbows me.
We both giggle until we get to studio A.

As me and Abbey walk in, I see a girl start screaming.
"Briar!" She screams and runs towards me.
"Jessy!" I scream back and hug my best friend.
We're always excited to see each other. She's in all my classes and we hang out a lot outside of dance so how can we not be best friends?

After a few minutes of me and Jessy catching up, Brooklyn runs through the door.
"He's coming! Turn off the lights." She yells and we all hide.
Alain turns off the lights and hides behind a table. Soon enough we here footsteps and I'm so excited to see Myles. I can't wait!

"Where is everyone?" He asks.
"Surprise!" We say and jump out at him as Alain turns the lights back on.
He starts to laugh and Tanner turns the music on.

"Myles!" I yell and run towards him.
I wrap my legs around his waist. He picks me up and spins me around.
"I missed you so much!" I yell as he puts me down.
"I missed you too." He says and hugs me.

Then Jessy walks pat and whispers in Myles' ear
"Ask her out."
Then she slips away and I feel my face turn bright red. Thanks Jessy. Thanks a lot. She knows that I have the biggest crush on Myles but don't worry, I'll get her back before she knows it.

"Briar, I would like you to meet someone." He says and an unfamiliar girl walks up to him.
He puts his arm around her and she smiles at him.
"Who's this?" I ask.
"I want you to meet Abi, my girlfriend." He says.
My heart breaks as he says those words. She holds out her hand and I shake it.
"We were staying in the same holiday park in Florida. We got to know each other and hung out every day. We soon found out that we both lived in Toronto so we decided to go home together. Our families got on well and soon enough, we got together." She says and they share a kiss.
But our families got on well.
"Isn't this great?" Myles asks.
"Um yeah. I'm going to get a drink, see you later." I say and walk away.

I walk over to Jessy who is talking to Brooklyn.
"Do you mind if I talk to Jessy alone for a minute?" I ask Brooklyn.
"Sure." She says.
"Thanks." I say and she walks away.
"What is it?" Jessy asks.
"Myles brought back a girl from Florida. Now they're a couple." I say.
"Briar I'm so sorry." Jessy says and hugs me.

Abbey walks up to us as I pull away from the hug.
"Briar Devon just asked me out!" She says excitedly.
"That's great!" I say.
"Has Myles asked you out yet?" She asks.
I turn to Jessy.
"Myles brought back a girl from his holiday and they're dating." Jessy says.
"Oh Briar." Abbey says and hugs me.

"Just forget about him!" Abbey says once I pull away.
"But I thought he was going to ask me out today." I say as a tear spills down my face but I wipe it away quickly.
"It'll be ok." Jessy says.
"Right. Anyway, I'm happy for you Abbey, really, I am." I say.
"Thanks Bri, I love you." She says.

Suddenly Myles walks up to us.
"Briar are you ok?" He asks.
"I'm fine." I say an put on a fake smile.
"Really? You looked kind of sad before. I just came to check that you were ok." He says.
"Yep, I'm ok." I say.
"Cool." He says and goes back to Abi.
They start taking selfies and kissing.

I'm not ok, I'm far from it.
