Briar's pov
Today is the only day of the week that we get a day off and it's Saturday. Devon made a group chat for everyone on our Elite team which is me, Jessy, Abbey, Brooklyn,  Abi (ugh), Tanner, Myles, Jenn and Devon. He asked us all if we were free today to hang out at the mall. Obviously we all said yes. I didn't realise that Myles was coming. I don't want to say no because that's just rude.

So I get up, have a shower, get dressed, do my hair, put on my makeup and have breakfast. Then me and Abbey walk to the train station together. It isn't that far and our parents are at work so they can't drive us to town.

Once the train arrives, we get on and see Jessy sitting with Brooklyn.
"Hey guys!" Jessy says and makes room for us to sit down.
"Is everyone still coming?" I ask.
"Yeah." She replies.
"So Abi is still coming?" Abbey asks.
"Yep." Brooklyn says.
"Great." I say sarcastically.

The train soon arrives in town and we all get off. We all walk to where we are supposed to meet and everyone is already there.
"Hey Abbey!" Devon says and hugs her.
We all coo and Abbey's face turns bright red.
"Where do you want to go first?" Devon asks us all.
"Starbucks?" Jenn asks.
"Yes!" Brooklyn yells.
"Let's go!" Tanner says and we all walk to Starbucks.

Once we finish in there, we start walking to some of the dance shops. I go to get my purse out of my pocket but it isn't there. I must've left it in Starbucks.
"I'm just going to go back to Starbucks. I think I left my purse there." I say.
"We'll wait in this jazz shop." Jessy says.
"Be back soon!" I say and run off to the coffee shop.

I get in there and see my purse is where I left it. Thank God no one stole it. However, when I go to leave, I find myself being surrounded by about five men. They each have a dragon tattooed on their left arm and a piercing on their right eyebrow.

"Where you off to pretty girl?" One of them says and lights a cigarette.
"Nowhere special." I say.
"Well then you won't mind coming with us." He says and blows smoke in my face.
"Thanks for the offer but I'll pass." I say and try to leave.
A different boy, more muscular guards the door so I can't get past.
"You don't have a choice baby." He says and grabs me.

I try to break free but then all the other boys grab me. I scream but no one tries to save me. Then, they drag me out of Starbucks and into a dark alley way. One guy tries to take my shirt off but I kick him. I keep screaming until one of them covers my mouth with his hand. One guy puts his hand up my shirt whilst the over bangs my head against the wall. I have a bad feeling about what's going to happen next.

Myles' pov
I look out of the shop window and catch a glimpse of someone screaming and being carried away by five people. I recognise the person's voice. Is that Briar? She hasn't come back yet. I have to save her!

I run out of the store as fast as I can.
"Myles where are you going?" Abi shouts but I keep running.
I turn a corner which leads into a dodgy alley. Then I see Briar being pushed against the wall by two men and another one is trying to take her leggings off. She is screaming and someone is banging her head against the wall and someone else is putting their hand up her shirt.

"Get off her!" I yell.
They all turn to look at me but carry on. Briar looks at me with fear in her eyes and there are tears dripping down her face. That's it. No more Mr nice guy. I kick the guy who is trying to take her leggings off and he goes flying. I can kick hard. Then I punch the two guys who are trying to take her shirt off. They both run away with bloody noses. To finish off, I smash the other two guys' heads against the wall until they plead me to stop. I let go and they both scarper.

Briar hugs me tightly and cries into my chest.
"There there. You're going to be ok." I whisper to her.
"Thank you. Thank you so much." She says in between tears.
"Don't even worry about it." I say. James' words of wisdom.
"Do you want to go back to the others?" I ask.
She shakes her head.
"That's ok. We can stay here for a while." I say and stroke her hair.

I can't believe she was almost raped.
"Thank you Myles." She says.
"Briar you've already said thank you." I say.
"I really mean it. If you hadn't come I-" I cut her off.
"Don't say it Briar." I say.
"Myles?" She asks.
"Yeah?" I ask back.
"Can we please go somewhere else? I don't want to stay here. It's not safe." She says.
"Of course." I say.

She lets go of me. Wow that was a long hug. She walks beside me but I put my arm around her for some reason. I don't know why I do. It just happened without me thinking about it. I take her to a large fountain and sit her down on the side of it. Then I kneel down in front of her and dry her eyes. She still seems pretty shaken up so I put my hands on her shoulders.

"Just take deep breaths." I say and she does.
"That's it." I say calmly.
It seems to work and she relaxes a bit more. I sit down next to her hand rub my hand up and down her arm which makes her less tense. Then she puts her head gently on my shoulder. I place my arm around her instinctively. Wait why did I do that? I don't know but it feels right.

"Please don't tell the others what happened." She says.
"Of course I won't if you don't want me to." I say.
"Thank you." She says.
"Briar I'm so sorry that this happened to you." I say.
"It's not your fault. You're the one who saved me. I'm really grateful for that Myles." She says.
"I know you are. Did they hurt you?" I ask.
She nods her head.
"Where?" I ask.
"They kept smashing my head against the wall." She says.
"Idiots." I say and slowly run my fingers through her hair until I get to a bump.
"You have a small bump but I wouldn't worry about it." I say.
"Ok. Myles I don't think I want to go to dance tomorrow." She says.
"You don't have to. But if you did, I'd look after you." I say.
Why did I say that? What's going on with me?
"You would?" She asks.
"Yeah." I say.
"I'll think about it and thanks." She says.
"No worries." I say..

We just sit and talk for a while until we realise that it's almost five in the afternoon. We were supposed to be back by three. I take Briar back to her house in my car.

"Are you sure that you'll be ok tonight?" I ask.
"Yeah. Thanks for everything you did. I appreciate it." She says and gets out of my car.
Then she walks into her house. I hope she thinks of an excuse quickly. Once her door closes, I drive home.
