Chapter 8- Together

Briar's pov
I can't believe that I told Myles how I felt. What a big mistake. He's never going to talk to me again. i may as well stop going to dance. He's so in love with Abi that he doesn't care about me. He doesn't care about my feelings so why would he care about me?

Anyway, it's Saturday which is our day off. Abbey is going out with some friends and my parents are working. Looks like I'm home alone. I get out of bed, put on my pale blue jeans with a white shirt and brush my hair. I straighten it and then walk downstairs to make breakfast.

Just as I'm about to put my toast on, there is a knock at the door. I look through the peep holes and see Myles standing there. No! What is he doing here? How does he know where I live?
"Briar I know you're in there." He says.

I open the door and bite my bottom lip as I see him standing there.
"Are you going to invite me in?" He asks.
"What are you doing here?" I ask angrily.
"Let me in and I'll explain." He says.
"Fine." I say and move out of the way.

He walks inside and hangs up his leather jacket on a hook. I put the kettle on and make us both a cup of tea.
"Thanks." He says and takes a sip of his drink.
"How do you know where I live?" I ask.
"Maybe I asked Abbey to help me out with this." He says.
"With what?" I ask.

He reached into his jumper pocket and pulled out a small gift wrapped with red paper and a ribbon on top. Then something strange happens. He hands it to me.
"What is it?" I ask.
"Open it." He replies.

I do as he says and carefully unwrap the present. It's a small box. I lift the lid off and see a silver bracelet with the letter 'b' carved into it.
"I don't get it." I say.
He sits next to me and takes my hold of my hands.
"Briar do you want to go out with me?" He asks.
"Yes!" I say excitedly and throw my arms around him.

Is this happening? Like is this really happening? It's happening! I'm so happy right now!

Myles' pov
Suddenly Briar pulls away and looks at me with a worried expression.
"What about Abi?" She asks.
I had already broken up with her. After Briar told me that she still liked me, I realised that I liked her back not Abi.
"We broke up." I say.
"Oh ok." She says and smiles at me.
"Do you like the bracelet?" I ask.
"I love it." She says and slips it onto her wrist.
"Thank you." She says and hugs me again.
"That's ok. Why don't we watch a film?" I ask.
"Sure!" She says and chooses a film from Netflix.

We both sit on her sofa to watch it and I put my arm around her as she rests her head on my shoulder. She's so cute. How did I even think about dating Abi when I could've had Briar? I don't know but I do know is that I have her now and I'm the luckiest guy on the planet.

bout halfway through the film, I look at Briar and her eyes are shut. She has fallen asleep with her head on my shoulder. I don't want to disturb her so I grab a blanket that was next to me and put it on her.
"Sleep well." I whisper.
