Chapter 14- First Kiss

Myles' pov
Today is the day of the competition and I'm not nervous. I don't really get nervous for competitions. In fact, I am confident that me and Briar will win.

Once I get dressed and have breakfast, my mum gets me into her car and starts driving.
"So are you excited for the competition?" She asks.
"Yeah. I have a feeling that we'll win." I say.
"It's you and Abi right?" She asks.
"No. It's me and Briar." I say.
"Why?" She asks.
"Well Alain gave me and Briar the duet. I also broke up with Abi two days ago and now Briar is my girlfriend." I admit.
"Well you don't hang around." She says.
"Abi is a horrible person." I say.
"What do you mean?" She asks.
"Well she's always mean to Briar. Calling her names and punching her. Now that I've broken up with her, she's going to come back even harder." I say
"Good luck with that. Anyway, we're here! Send Briar my love and I know that you're going to kill it! I'll be watching you from a front row seat!" She says and we both get out of the car.
"Thanks mum, bye!" I say and walk off in different directions.

Briar's pov
Right now I'm just waiting ,by myself, for Myles. I sit down on a small wooden stool in the corner of the room. There was a room that only the competing dancers were aloud in. I guess you could call it a waiting room. Everyone had their duet partner except me.

So there I was, sitting in the corner of the room by myself whilst everyone is pointing at me and whispering. Where is Myles. I see a girl walking up to me.

"Hi, I'm Katrina. Where's your duet partner?" She asks.
"I don't know." I say.
"I'm sure that they'll be here soon." She says.
"I hope." I say.
"Just ignore everyone. My duet partner is calling me over. See you around." She says.
"Bye." I say and she walks off.

Just as she leaves Myles walks through the doors. I run up to him and he gives me a hug.
"Where have you been?" I ask.
"Briar I'm so sorry it's just I was walking down the hallway to get here and there was an old man walking in front of me. Then he slipped over so I had to run to the other side of the building to get help and then all the way back to the old man. Once they called an ambulance I realised that I had to get to you so I ran all the way here. That's why I'm so out of breath." He says whilst panting.
"Aw My you're the sweetest boy I know. Don't worry about being late we still have plenty of time." I say and smile at him.
He smiles back.

Suddenly Katrina walks up to Myles and starts batting her eyelashes and twiddling her hair around her finger.
"So what's your name?" She asks him.
He looks at me and I give him the look of 'she is flirting'. He winks at me and turns back to Katrina.
"Ben." He replies and I let out a small giggle but she doesn't hear.
"Well Ben why don't we hang out for a while." She says and pouts.
"And do what exactly?" He asks.
"Do you want a taste of these lips?" She asks and walks closely to him.
I feel myself getting angry but I keep my cool. Myles won't do anything that he'll regret. Suddenly she leans in and tries to kiss him.
"How about no." He says and walks over to me.
She looks at us in disbelief and then Myles kisses me. He actually kissed me. On the lips. This was our first kiss. It felt amazing. Katrina walks off in a strop and I look up at Myles.

"You didn't want to kiss did you. Briar I'm sorry-" I cut him off.
"Myles Ioved it. I love you." I say.
He sighs with relief before giving me another peck on the lips and pulling me into a hug. I just smile to myself and I'm pretty sure he's doing the same. It's like we've forgotten that everyone else was in the room. It felt like it was just me and him, together, forever.
