Chapter 10
"Where's Mahone?" I looked up from my untouched lunch to find Alex staring me down with questioning eyes. I almost cringed at hearing his name.
"I-uh-uh don't know," I responded quickly.
"I heard someone saw him leaving the school while he was crying," Robert said, raising his eye brows. Crying. That word rang through my head. Austin was crying? Then again, someone could just be starting rumors like usual.
"Who could possibly make Austin Mahone cry?" Alex said, slightly chuckling. Me. I could. Cause I did. "You should ask him the next time you guys are working on the project," Alex suggested. Too bad there wouldn't be another time.
"I can't. We're not working on the project together anymore," I informed them, staring down at my hands. Before they got a chance to speak again, I felt a hand on my back. I flicked my head around, greeted by Tucker's smiling face.
"Hey, Tucker," I said, remembering that a few periods ago he kissed me randomly in the hallway. "Sit down." He obeyed my command and sat down in the open chair next to him. Alex and Tucker smiled at eachother and him and Robert exchanged glances.
"So Ali," Tucker began. I saw Robert stiffen out of the corner of my eye. "I'm having a party friday night and I was wondering if you'd like to come."
I immediantly got nervous. I'm not what you'd call a party animal. Plus, Tucker was a senior so he hung out with the seniors which meant, a lot of older kids would be there. "Maybe. Could Alex and Robert come?" I asked, hoping he'd say yes.
"Of course. I was going to ask them if they wanted to come anyways," Tucker laughed.
I chuckled, "Then yeah, sure! I'd love to!"
"Awesome. So I'll see you around," Alex said, smiling at me before getting up and wandering back over to his table.
"When did you and Tucker become friends?" Alex asked, taking a sip of his drink. I shrugged nonchalantly, although Alex had known for awhile about my, what used to seem unreal, crush on Tucker.
We stayed quiet for a few minutes, shoving our faces with our lunch. As much as I tried, I couldn't get Austin off my mind. I couldn't erase the undescribable pain I saw in his face. "Payton's here tonight. She wants to see you guys," Robert said.
"And I want to see her," Alex replied, waggling his eye brows. Gag me.
"Anyways, you guys want to come over tonight?" Robert asked. Alex and I nodded in response. "Awesome."
At least I had something to do now to make an attempt to stop thinking about Austin.

"Ali!" Payton shouted as she opened Robert's from door for Alex and I. She threw her arms around me, embracing me tightly. I hugged her back, a smile spreading across my face. "I missed you!"
"I missed you too!" I shouted back. She pulled away, her blue eyes sparkling from excitement. I looked at Alex who looked disapointed that he hadn't been greeted by his girlfriend yet. I smirked proudly.
"I didn't forget about you, Constancio," Payton smiled, stepping closer to him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him quickly. Alex, of course, wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her closer to him.
I rolled my eyes and stepped past them and into the house. "Hey,
Ali," Robert said, walking towards me from the kitchen. He was wearing gray sweatpants and an trukfit shirt. Yes, he looked hot.
