Chapter 18

I held my phone out in front of Austin and I and he quickly shoved his face in his pillow. "I hate pictures!" He complained.

I sighed, "C'mon! Just one picture, for me?" He lifted his head and looked at me. I stuck out my bottom lip and opened my eyes as far as they could go.

"Fine, whatever," Austin huffed. I smiled and held the phone out in front of us once more. Austin smiled, showing off both rows of his flaweless teeth and I did the same. The flash went off and I looked at the picture. I quickly uploaded it to Facebook. "Let me see," Austin demanded.

I handed him my phone and his neautral expression quickly turned into a smile. "You're gorgeous," He gleamed, handing my phone back to him. I looked away from him, rolled over, and buried my head in his pillow. "Ali..." He whispered, his hands were quickly on my stomach and I found myself bursting out into continuous giggles as he tickled my stomach.

"Austin, stop!" I yelled, still laughing hysterically.

"Admit that you're gorgeous!" Austin shouted, a proud smile placed on his face.

"No!" I shouted back at him. Austin jumped on top of me and continued to tickle my stomach endlessly.

"Admit it!" He yelled once again.

I laughed, "Fine, fine. I'm gorgeous!" Austin stopped and sighed loudly, obviously proud of himself. I placed my hand on the back of his neck and pulled his face closer to mine. "I'm just kidding. I'm not."

Before he could respond, I pulled his lips onto mine and kissed him with the most enery I could sum up at the time. His perfect lips light massaged mine as he laid on top of me. I felt him smile through the kiss as I tangled my fingers through his hair. He pulled away. His facial expression was unreadable. "I-I-I love you," He muttered.

I stared at him, blinking a few times to make sure I actually heard him correctly. "You do?" He nodded. "But I thought you never wanted to be in love," I spoke quietly.

"I don't." My face dropped. "But that doesn't mean I'm not. Something about you, I don't know, you just, get me. I don't understand what I'm feeling right now so I'm guessing, it's love. I love you, Ali. I need you to be here with me. You're the only thing I truly care about anymore, other than my mom," He chuckled.

"I love you too," I smiled. I was sure of what I just said. Austin made me feel weightless, like nothing mattered, except him. I loved that, and I needed that. Without responding, he leaned down and kissed me.

"Ali! Nick! Come out to eat dinner!" Austin's mom yelled from the kitchen. Austin rolled off me and hopped off his bed. He held out his hand, waiting for me to clasp onto it. I reached out and connected our hands, feeling the familiar tingly feeling his hand gave me.

We strolled out of the room and down the hallway into the kitchen, smiles placed on both of our faces. "Well, aren't you two happy?" Mrs. Mahone gleamed, setting out three plates of grilled chicken on the table.

Austin blushed before sitting down and digging into his food. I copied his movement and took the seat next to him. "Thanks for dinner, Ma," Austin said with his mouthful.

"Austin , don't talk with your mouthful! Ali is here and she doesn't need to see that!" Mrs. Mahone scolded him as she sat down in front of her meal. Austin blushed and gulped, swallowing his chicken.

I giggled to myself and began cutting up my food. "So are you guys excited to be on winter break?" Mrs. Mahone asked, taking a sip of her water.

Oh, yeah. I had forgotten yesterday was our last day of school before break. "Yeah," Austin muttered. I nodded thoughtfully.
