What happens when a young rebellious wizard meets his soul's twin flame? Although they had danced together many lifetimes throughout space and time, neither had ever experienced anything such as this before.
Cassie was a fairly typical Scottish...
For the next few weeks, Remus spent his waking hours with Cassie whenever either of them was not working. These hours were often bittersweet at best as Sirius was very nearly always present. Remus found that the only respite was when Sirius would cook for them, or if Cassie gave him the night off; he had hoped that Sirius would go find one of his girlfriends to spend time with. He soon learned that Sirius would often visit with James and Lily instead. On the evenings that he didn't, he would lounge on the sofa with a beer and Chinese take out, watching the television; this caused irritation more than anything and Cassie suggested that they step out for a bit, which usually meant sitting in a quiet corner of the hotel pub, talking or taking turns playing with the pinball machine. She loved to play pinball and vowed that one of the first things she would purchase with any money she made from the band would be her own personal machine that she could play with anytime she wanted to, which Remus found a bit odd, if not amusing.
Remus often passed the time reading from Chaucer, creating separate voices for each character, which Cassie often found hysterical. This pleased him to no end that he could make her laugh; Lily had once told him that he would no doubt make some lucky woman a good husband due to that particular trait alone. He often thought his wit was more often than not, too dry for most people to appreciate, much less understand. She informed him that the right girl would get it. He was beyond delighted when he realized that Cassie got him and he got her.
He wondered if his parentage played a part in his relationship with Cassie in that she identified with all things muggle; at the very least, he was aware that he had a leg up on Sirius in that particular department and pushed the issue, often times though, he wasn't aware he was doing it, which greatly vexed Sirius and he often called Remus out on it..."Damn it, Remus! What the hell are you playing at, man? Back the hell off! She's your girl, not mine! When will you get that through your thick head!" This only served to strengthen Remus's resolve to retain Cassie's affections for himself for the time being.

There were times when Remus would take her out for a meal and occasionally, they would double date with Lily and James. This was often the only time that Cassie was able see and spend time with her best girl friend. Cassie would ask, "What's new," and Lily would reply with, "nothing. You?" Cassie would reply with, "same she-it, different day." Then by some miracle, they would find something to discuss, both often becoming quite animated, giggling and laughing. James and Remus would often eye each other as if the girls were speaking some secret language only they understood.
By mid-November, Remus found himself growing anxious about Cassie returning home to Pennsylvania and he threw himself into his work for the Order in an attempt to keep himself busy. When he returned home Lily invited Cassie and him out to dinner to discuss an important matter concerning their upcoming wedding...Lily and James had asked that Cassie be their Maid of Honor. Cassie's eyes filled with tears as she nodded, admitting that she had hoped that she'd be the one they asked. Cassie and Lily both stood and embraced, and then jumped up and down, squealing like little schoolgirls. Since the wedding was but a few weeks away, they had dinner four times a week they immediately put their heads together and brainstormed at the very dinner table at any given restaurant they happened to be at. Other times, Cassie could be found seated on the floor at the coffee table on the phone as she made arrangements and secured reservations, and reviewed confirmations. There were always bits of paper containing various notes all over the place. She turned out to be an excellent Maid of Honor much to Remus' dismay, as this meant that she would have to spend more time with Sirius without him, going to places and doing things on the couple's behalf...there was only space for one on Sirius's bike and it was hers.
