Are we there yet," Theo asked.
"No, not yet, Daddy."
Cassie, Sirius, Minerva, Theo and Aberforth walked the long corridor toward Sirius Black and Cassie LeBlanc's shared home in Scotland. The long corridor was as cool as it was dark and one needed wand-light to travel, as there was no ambient lighting...Two abreast could walk it comfortably and occasionally there was a twist, or a turn and a couple of dips and rises. The walls, floor and ceiling were composed of earth and stone and Cassie remembered an occasional spider or two and a few worms meeting her fingers as she sometimes doused her wand and traveled with only her senses to guide her. To enter and travel the corridor, you needed to be in the company of one of two people: Cassie leBlanc or Albus Dumbledore. Each had their own incantation and wand flourish so that neither could be duplicated. It took about fifteen minutes to walk the 56 miles from Hogwarts to the house and before too long, the corridor came to an abrupt end, looking much like someone had simply tired of digging, packed it up and returned to Hogwarts.
"Are we there yet," Theo joked.
She turned to her dad and grinned. "Actually, we are." She placed her hand on the wall before them and the wall transformed into a door, then pushed on the metal handle and pushed down the latch; the door opened with a creak and they walked, half blinded by later afternoon light into Sirius' study to find her children waiting impatiently.
"I thought you'd NEVER get her back here, Dad," Ryan said.
"Close the curtains Ryan," Cassie instructed, squeezing her eyes closed.
Once their eyes had adjusted to the light, Padfoot transformed into Sirius and he looked back at the glass covered doors to shelving that housed books and sheet music and family photographs. "How did you know that we would be exiting here?"
Ryan raised his brow. "Honestly Dad, you have to ask?" He tapped at his temple.
"Ah--" Sirius grinned and winked at his son then put his arm around his shoulders. "Come with me son, we've some work to do--"
As they walked past Andromeda, she swiped at her father's free arm. "HEY! What about me!"
Cassie turned her head to find Sirius grinning as he released Ryan and swooped his daughter up in his arms and spun her around as she laughed and screamed happily. He stopped and gently returned her to the spot where she had been standing and lifted her chin for a peck on his cheek. "I've a most important mission for you, Poppet--"
She smiled excitedly and nodded her head. "What!"
"Keep Harry away from the very back garden by the stable."
She instantly pouted. "Aww! How am I going to manage that? They're supposed to be working out there putting the tables and chairs together--then me, Ginny and Hermione are supposed to set the tables--"
"You're an intelligent girl, you'll figure something out--"
She huffed. "Why?"
"It's a surprise."
"For everyone?"
"Yes."
"But how come Ryan gets to know?"
"Because I'm the oldest," Ryan replied as he backed away. "And the most important!"
Irritated, she swiped out her hand and missed him by a millimeter. "Oooooh--you'll pay for that!"
"Well--ya gotta catch me first, Catbutt!"
Cassie fought off a giggle and tried to cover her amusement to no avail as she watched her daughter instantly transform into her animagus form and chase her brother through the house and their guests. She turned to Sirius. "Two galleons says that she'll catch him within five minutes.
