The first Saturday of August 1980, proved to be a lovely day for a homecoming party for baby Harry at the new home of James and Lily Potter. Cassie wanted to host a house-warming party for them and per her instructions, James and Sirius created a large grill so that they could have what Cassie called, a cookout. The young men thought it a lot like camping, only without the camping. Lily had given birth to their son Harry earlier in the week and was just newly home; she was lying in the back garden on a chaise beneath the lone tree watching as James and Sirius attempted to light the grill with petrol from Sirius' motorbike, prepared to assist with putting out fires should any erupt. When they finally succeeded, a large ball of fire erupted suddenly and Cassie came running out of the kitchen to the patio and roared at them furiously. Cassie was only sixteen weeks along in her pregnancy and had been experiencing what she described as mild pain through out the day and she simply wasn't keen on dealing with any Marauder shenanigans...she wanted the day to be special for her best friends and more importantly, without indecent.

Crookshanks found his favorite place in the sun, near the rose bushes that Cassie had planted earlier that spring and watched the grill with a keen interest for anything that might fall to the ground.

Members of the Order began arriving and soon, the outside buffet table was filled with all manner of food and beverages. Cassie came outside with her wand and steadied two large platters in the air. One was piled high with raw hamburgers and wieners for the children and bratwurst for the adults and the other, all manner of breads and rolls. James signaled for absolute silence as she carefully placed them on the table near the large grill and lowered her wand finally and her body relaxed and she looked up to Albus who was grinning broadly as he nodded his head and applauded. Sirius beamed as he too, applauded. Cassie had worked hard to learn how to work in tandem with her wand. Sirius thought she was ready and had begun teaching her deflective spells, since the wood that her wand was constructed from was typically used in dueling as well as healing. Sirius found the combination convenient as well as humorous and his joke was, "shoot 'em up now, heal 'em up later" to which Cassie would only roll her eyes and shake her head...

Cassie and Sirius grilled the meats while their guests visited with one another and soon, the meats were ready. James had transfigured several tables for their guests to dine at and asked them to take their seats. Once everyone was seated before their various selections, Sirius stood and tapped his plastic cup of ale with his plastic fork with sheer amusement at the sound.

"We all know why we're here and I certainly don't want to keep you from your food--I only wanted to say thank you everyone for coming out here this afternoon. I daresay all this rivals the Christmas feast at Hogwarts!"

"Here, here," James said as he raised his cup.

"So I'd like to propose a toast--to me mucker James and his best girl Lily--but most especially to my new godson, Harry--may your lives be long and filled with love, laughter and all the happiness you can muster up. Cheers everyone!"
