Their photographer wanted to get several traditional photos of the newlyweds and Cassie insisted that Sirius had to return his tie back to his neck and he did so with a playful scowl.
"Not married twenty minutes and you're already telling me what to do," he joked.
She reached up and kissed his bottom lip and bit it playfully. "I've been telling you what to do for years, Mister Black."
The photographer sat them on a bench near the pasture and ever the wild-child, Sirius kissed his bride and made a rock-on gesture. Cassie was certain that he was making bunny ears behind her back.
After the photographer got the poses he wanted of the couple, they moved through the tables thanking each guest for attending. Sirius and Cassie's guests were enjoying dinner as well as each others company. When they reached Messers Lee, Lifeson, and Peart's table, Neil reached up and took her hand in his. "You know," he began, "you're like an honorary daughter to all three of us, right? We've watched you literally grow up behind that drum kit--watched you hone your craft, develop your voice and morph into the beautiful woman you are today--and here you are, finally marrying this joker--" Sirius flashed a toothy grin at having heard that. "I'm so glad you found each other again sweetheart, I really am--"
"But," Cassie said.
He shook his head. "No buts--an and--"
Cassie chuckled. "Okay, and?"
"How about after you give birth and back to work and when you are up to it , what's say you and I have a drum war?"
Cassie grinned widely and nodded as she wrapped her arms around the neck of her second favorite drummer. "It's on!"
"This ought to be good," Alex said. "The top two drummers on the planet in a drum war--I can see the taglines now: BATTLE OF THE SEXES AND THE AGES!"
Neil cut his eyes and shook his head as he laughed silently. "Hey, are you trying to say I'm old?"
"No of course not. I'm not trying at all--I AM saying you're old! She'll beat the crap outta you!"
Cassie shook her head. "Ooooh, I don't know about that--he is the Professor after all--"
Arthur Weasley caught Sirius' eye and it looked urgent, so he excused himself and briskly walked over; Arthur led Sirius away from the other guests. "Seems that You Know Who may not have been lying after all?"
"Oh," Sirius asked lowering his head, as he kept an eye on his wife.
"Dumbledore in on his way."
"Thought no one knew where he was?"
"He flooed the house and Molly was in the kitchen fetching some more napkins--said he was near Dover and would get here as soon as--ah speak of the devil--there he is." Arthur pointed in the direction of the tree-lined corridor and the two men watched his irate reaction at having seen the celebration in progress as well as Cassie's to his arrival: Cassie's face lit up like a Christmas tree and she quickly excused herself from her musician friends and ran to him as quickly as her gown and boots would carry her.
"Let's hope she can smooth this over quickly," Sirius said.
"Grand pa!" She threw out her arms to hug his neck. "They told me that no one knew where you were!"
"One did apparently--Tom."
"Oh. Him. Yeah, he paid us a visit today," she said dryly as she turned to look toward her guests.
"I take it that you've married Sirius then?"
She nodded and smiled happily. "Yes, we're official--"
