Remus apparated everyone to the door of James and Lily's house and  touched the doorknob with his wand. He opened the door and ushered  everyone inside, then closed the door behind him.

Lilly emerged from the kitchen. "Remus, you're home? Please tell me that you brought Cassie with you, yes?"

He beamed the brightest smile. "I have brought guests as in plural. I hope it's alright?"

"Absolutely--but one of them had better be Cassie!" She beamed upon seeing Cassie peer from behind Remus.  "James! Come quick, she's here!" She squealed as she held out her hands and grabbed Cassie  from behind her friend. "Oh gods, you're finally here! We've waited so  long to finally meet you!" She embraced Cassie warmly, tears in her  eyes. She looked up and saw that Albus was standing behind them all.  "Headmaster?"

"My Grand pa," Cassie whispered as she wiped away the wetness from her cheeks.

"Your grandfather," James exclaimed from behind Lily. "Merlin's beard! Say it isn't so! You're a witch then?" He took Cassie's hand warmly and Cassie rolled her eyes and embraced him. James chuckled.  "She's been waiting forever, you know." Cassie nodded.

Albus nodded. "It's so and she is." He smiled and motioned for James  to come closer. "Where's Sirius," he asked under his breath.

James pointed his index finger upward. "He's knackered. He's had a terribly rough couple of days. Even went up without supper."

Albus frowned and looked up the staircase. "Perhaps we should leave him be, then."

Cassie introduced her friend Julie to Lily and they exited for the sitting room to get better acquainted.

James pulled Remus toward him. "He's in a major sulk, one of the  worst I've ever seen. Something's huge gotten under his skin. Said he  didn't want to see you, should you go asking."

Remus signed heavily and frowned hard. "Damn."

"What happened? You two have a row?"

Remus shook his head. "No."

"Then, what the hell happened?"

"Cassie happened."

"Sorry?"

"They're splitaparts, James."

"You're putting me on?"

Remus shook his head.

"Well, that's quite the Devil's Snare, isn't it?"

"You're telling me," Remus grumbled.

Lily called out for a house elf and requested a tea service for seven. James motioned for six and Lily stared at him for a moment. He  motioned that he'd tell her later. She amended her request and the house elf disappeared and then reappeared with an elaborate tea and sandwiches.

"Gods, I'm starving," Cassie said, stuffing her mouth with a cucumber sandwich.

"So am I," Julie confessed. She consumed hers in two bites.

"Merlin's beard, haven't you supped yet?"

"No, there's been no time," Remus admitted apologetically.

"Well, we will have to rectify that, won't we? And immediately, if not sooner!"

Within the hour, the six of them were seated at a table, platters and bowls of food littering the surface. They engaged in small talk as they ate and Cassie produced her new wand to show them. She admitted  that she had no idea how to use it and that her father will be furious  when he learns that she has one.
