Jurassic World: A New Beginning

The car took a violent turn to the right, sending everyone in the back seat to crash against the window and in the process squash Lowery painfully; the young tech barked with pain as Zach and Bea scrambled to get away from him as Barry glanced at them from his safe spot in the front seat.

"Could you drive less like this is Fast and Furious Jurassic Drift!" barked Bea, she pushed herself away from Zach and returned to her spot next to the other window as Owen continued to drive like a mad man.

"No, I can't!" barked Owen "I'm trying to get us out of here!"

"Try to get us out alive, for fucks sake!"

"Can you stop being so goddam rude!" barked Owen.

"No I can't!" barked Bea "I'll curse all I want!"

"Could you two just shut up?" asked Barry.

"NO!" barked both Grady siblings at the same time, Zach pressed his lips into a thin line to avoid chuckling; this was the Bea he loved not the one going crazy at the cages back there.

"Did you get a shower?" asked Lowery's voice after a few seconds of silence.

Barry looked over his shoulder and Zach turned to look at Bea as Owen glanced up at her through the review mirror.

"Yes, they told me I could shower if I wanted" shrugged Bea "The water was cold but whatever right?"

"Did he let you do anything else that I need to know about?" asked Zach, his voice coming out a little too high for his liking. "Like where did you get that shirt from?"

"No" said Bea she turned to look at Zach and for a moment Lowery and Barry glanced at each other and Barry could have sworn that there was an amused hint in Lowery's face. "Well they gave me the shirt because mine had blood and dirt and anyway I already told you he kissed me" she made a pause "Well we kissed"

"You kissed him back?" asked Zach.

"Yes of course" Zach's eyes widened "Not like that, no!" she placed both of her hands over his knees "It was just pretend so I could grab the flashlight"

"So you kissed kissed him" gasped Zach, the horrified look on his face would have been cute in another circumstance.

"Not like kiss kiss, THAT way kiss" explained Bea, she gave Zach THE look, trying to see if he understood what kind of kiss she hadn't given Andrew without having to blurt it out in front of everyone.

"No!" cried Owen, everyone turned to look at him "We are not doing this here! Fuck no!" he turned to look at Bea over his shoulder and suddenly his arm appeared in the space between the two front seat and he started to wave his arm around trying not to let go of the wheel in a strange and clumsy attempt to get Zach away from Bea "Get away from her, we are not talking about THAT here or now or never while I am near!"

"OWEN!" cried Bea and Barry at the same time, Owen turned his eyes straight to the road and threw the wheel to the left just in time to avoid a tree and as he cursed under his breath the sky broke and water started to fall violently over the car.

Zach glanced at Bea by the rear of his eyes and found she was already looking at him by the rear of her eyes, her lips pressed into a thin line to avoid laughing from Owen's outburst, she slowly reached for his knee and her hand landed over his skin; she moved her hand a bit up his leg and then he leaned towards her and placed his head over her shoulder.

Owen watched by the review mirror as Zach leaned over his sister and as he slowed down the car he wondered if any of this would be different if Bea had never met Zach and Gray back at Jurassic World; and despite the fact that he would rather have his sister be a nun or something like that, Zach was starting to grow on him.

"I can't see shit" whispered Owen to Barry, his friends was squinting and leaning forward but the thick curtain of water was making it impossible to have a good view of what lay ahead of them.

"If we stop the car might get stuck in the mud" explained Barry "And I'm pretty sure we have to be close to the beach"

"I know" sighed Owen, Barry and Owen shared a concerned look before Owen turned to look forward and decided that the best thing they could do was stop.

"Why are you stopping?" asked Lowery.

"I can't see shit with the rain" explained Owen

"Do you think it's safe?" asked Bea.

"No but I'd rather stop than crash and get us all killed" explained Owen, he rubbed his eyes with the palm of his hands and Bea could tell that he was tired beyond reason.

"Ok then" she whispered.

The car fell silent, the water outside rolling down the windows rapidly and puddling the ground below the car, mud starting to trap the car in a silent trap.

"Were did you learn how to act like a hysteric person?" asked Owen suddenly, his eyes fixed on the invisible road ahead.

"In drama class" explained Bea.

"God it looked so real" whispered Owen.

"That was the point" Zach pushed himself away from Bea, and his eyes landed on the rolling rain on the window, as the sky outside continued to grow darker.

"I've never seen you like that"

"No one has" the lie slipped out of Bea's mouth rapidly but her eyes would have betrayed her if someone had payed attention at the way her eyes met Barry's over the review mirror and she gave him a soft apologetic smile; because she knew he had seen her act like that before, out of control with her emotions and scared all the time, Barry knew that side of her and despite it all, she was grateful he was the one who knew her like that.

Barry pushed a flashback of Bea crying loudly in the hospital away from his mind, his heart clenching in his chest and rage boiling in his blood, he had wanted to beat the life out of Leo but Bea had needed him more than anything so he had restrained himself for her.

"Guys," Zach's voice came almost in an unheard whisper, Bea's head snapped to him and she noticed his eyes locked over the window behind, she slowly turned around and as she did Zach pulled her up against his chest and covered her mouth to avoid a scream that might slip out of her mouth "We have visit"

Everyone turned to the window as Bea pressed her back further against Zach's chest as they all saw a few shadows walking around the car; the rain was falling hard, distorting the shape of the visitors but there was one thing they all knew, whatever was out there was not human.

"They found us" whispered Owen and Bea felt like screaming against Zach's hand.
