ISANG BUWAN na si Dane sa Pilipinas isang buwan narin halos ang ginagawa niyang pagtawag kay Dexter, gusto niya lang marinig ang boses nito kahit pinsan alam niyang naiirita ito dahil sa ginagawa niya. Tatawag kasi si Dane, pagkarinig ng boses ni Dexter ay ibaba niya na ang tawag niya dito. Walang kaalam-alam ang binata na siya ang tumatawag, katulad nalang ngayon sinusubukan niyang tawagan ang binata, nakailang ring bago ito sinagot ng huli. "Uh, Hello?'' There was that familiar huskily in his voice that Dane loved so much.
Naiinis na si Dexter sa taong araw-araw tumatawag sa kanya na hindi naman nagsasalita. Naghintay pa ng ilang segundo ang binata subalit nanatiling tahimik ang kabilang linya. Wala sa loob na pinindot nito ang end call ng tawag.
Malungkot naman si Dane ng pinatay na ni Dexter ang tawag niya.
"Ano ba ginagawa mo sa sarili mo sis?'' Bungad ng bagong dating na si Stephanie, pagkatapos kasi ng birthday party nito noon sa New York ay umuwi ito ng Pilipinas para masimulan ang business nilang dalawa. Ang Pastry Bake shop nila, so far their business work well.
Mabilis na tinuyo niya ng likurang palad ang luhang kusang nangilid sa kanyang mga mata. Lumapit naman si Stephanie sa kaibigan para aluin ito. ''Crying is not a solution for what you feel right now, kailangan mo tanggapin ang desisyon mo, nangangayat kana oh." Wika ni Steph sa kanya.
When she about to say something to her friend, butterflies flew wildly in her stomach, kaya naman tumakbo ito sa Cr na nasa gawi nila. Nagtatakang sinundan naman ni Stephanie si Dane.
"Sis, are you okay?" Tanong nito sa kaibigan habang hinahagod ang likod ni Dane.
"I feel dizzy Steph,'' sabay hawak sa noo nito, something pop up in Stephanie mind.
''I think you need to see the Doctor sis.'' Wika nito kay Dane.
Nangmahimasmasan si Dane ay agad silang nagpahatid sa driver nila sa hospital.
When they get inside the hospital she don't know what she's going to feel.
"You feel nervous, don't you?" Stephanie said to her.
The nurse check her blood pressure, then asked her some questions about her menstration, after the nurse finished to get her personal information, she saw her pick up something on her desk.
"Ma'am, We need your urine for examination, you can use this." Sabay abot ng urine container kay Dane.
She took it, then she go to the toilet after a few minutes, she returned her unire container to the nurse.
They wait for their turn, after 20 minutes.
The nurse called her name. "Danry Gomez?" They both turned their heads to the door and stood, walking up to the nurse who was currently holding the door open to them.
They smile to the nurse before they enter to the Doctor room.
''Just wait for a minute Ma'am, the doctor will be here shortly." The nurse said quickly, before retreating back to her own desk to get her information sheets.
''Thank you." Stephanie said gratefully. They sat in the windowless room that had white walls and a couple of chairs.
Stephanie playing her phone while Dane, checking her mails. The Doctor came in a few minutes.
"Miss Gomez." The Doctor called her name, that's why she stood and walk to the Doctor desk.
"Have a seat." The Doctor said while smiling at her.
''What is the result about my examination Doc?'' She asked nervously.
"Don't get nervous Miss Gomez.'' The Doctor said, maybe she noticed Dane felt nervous.
"Okay,'' The Doctor said while reading and checking about the result.
"Congratulations Miss Gomez, the result of the test was Positive." She frowned.
''You're 6weeks pregnant, soon to be a mother.'' The doctor said full of excitement.
''I, what?'' She asked stunned, not sure if she had heard her correctly.
"Sis, the doctor said you're 6 weeks pregnant." Stephanie told to her.
''Excuse me." She excuse herself when she can't process in her mind, when Stephanie told to her twice. But when she about to stand, she feel dizzy, the last thing she know her world instantly became blurry.
Stephanie worried too much to her friend. When she tried to called Dane's mother. She heard Dane called her name.
When her eyes opened fuzzily, adjusting to the bright light. She frowned when she looked around, she found herself in familiar place the white wall. She know she still in the hospital.
Stephanie came to her hurriedly. "Dane," She heared when her friend called her name.
"Steph," She said while smiling.
"Thanks God , you're okay.'' Stephanie said thankfully.
"I'm not dreaming right?" She asked to her friend. ''My God, I'm become a mother after few months." She said happily, this time she already recovered about the shocking result of her examination.
Stephanie smile at her. ''Yes, you become a mother and I'll become a God Mother.'' Stephanie said with full of excitement in her voice.
After they talk, they hugged it's other with full of happiness.
She touch her tummy while smiling. ''Baby, I am very happy right now. You are my precious gift I received from God."
"Do you have any plan to tell Dexter about your situation?" Stephanie asked Dane.
She turned her head to her friend, right now she can't answer Stephanie question. She quite for awhile thinking about her situation. Did she wants Dexter know about her pregnancy? Or she will keep it until the baby's born.
She shook her head as an answer to Stephanie question. ''Not now, maybe in the right time." She said.
"I respect your decision Sis." Then Stephanie hugged her tight.
When the doctor checked Dane, she said she can go home. That's why they went home directly in Dane house.
When her parents know about her pregnancy, they easily accept Dane situation, in fact they are very happy about the news, even Dane told to them about the man who's responsibly to her situation.
They said okay lang daw kahit walang Ama ang anak niya. Basta may apo sila.
''Thank you Mom, thank you Dad." She said thankfully to her parents. Sabay yakap sa mga ito.
"You are our only Princess Dane, kaya lahat ng suporta namin ay nasasayo." Her mom told to her while smiling at her. She's lucky enough to have a parents like them.
She even called her cousin to let him know about her situation, first he against about her decision to keep Dexter about her pregnancy.
"But bunso, he had a right to know about your situation." He insisted.
''Kuya, please, not now." Wala naring nagawa ang pinsan nito.
''Alam mo ba na uuwi siya ng Pilipinas next month?" Wika ni Sherwin.
She keep quite for a while. Suddenly she feel her heart beating so fast. " And so?" Tanging tanong nito sa pinsan. But the truth is, she feel excitement in her heart.
Sherwin just let a sight. Hindi na nito napilit si Dane. Sa katunayan naaawa ma din siya kay Dexter nakita nito ang pagpupursige na ayusin nito ang sarili bago harapin ang pinsan niya.
Tatlong buwan na ang nakalipas simula ng umalis si Dane sa New York. Kaya naman nakakaramdam na siya ng sintomas ng paglilihi.
Araw iyon ng linggo she craving for something na hindi niya alam kung ano, sakto naman na tumawag si Stephanie sa kanya, niyaya siyang pumunta ng Mall of Asia. Hindi naman siya tumanggi nagbabakasaling nandoon ang hinahanap niyang pagkain. Maya-maya lang ay dumating na ang kaibigan niya.
"Hi buntit.'' Bati nito kay Dane sabay halik sa pisngi ng kaibigan.
Napabungisngis naman si Dane sa sinabi ng kaibigan. Hindi pa naman halatang buntis siya, her tummy still flat.
Nang dumating sila sa MOA ay naglibot-libot sila sa Mall. Nang mapagod ay niyaya niya si Stephanie pumunta ng chowking.
"I'm craving for something.'' She said to her friend.
"So, what do you want to eat?'' Tanong ni Steph sa kanya.
"I don't know, order ka nalang kahit ano.'' Wika nito sa kaibigan, tumalikod na ang kaibigan nito para mag-order. Siya naman ay naghanap ng bakanteng lamisa para sa kanila ng kaibigan.
Nang dumating ang order nila ay nagsimula na silang kumain, hanggang sa mapagawi ang tingin ni Stephanie sa kabilang lamesa nila.
"Sis, diba si Ashley 'yon?'' Sabay nguso ni Stephanie sa kabilang table nila. Napakita niya kasi sa kaibigan niya ang mga pictures ni Ashley noon mula sa Facebook account ng huli.
Lumingon naman si Dane, tama nga ang kaibigan ang nakikita niya ngayon ay ang babaing mahal ng taong mahal niya. She feel pain in her chest. Malaki na ang tiyan ni Ashley parang kabuwanan na ata nito, magkalapit lang sila ng table kaya naman kitang-kita niya ang bawat galaw ni Ashley maganda ito may maamong mukha, tama lang ang tawag sa kanya ni Dexter na Angel dahil mukhang anghel nga ito.
Maya-maya lang ay tumunog ang cellphone ni Ashley, kinuha niya iyon sa ibabaw ng lamesa at sinagot ang tumatawag.
''Hello?'' Rinig niyang sabi ni Ashley.
"Dex, where are you?'' Bigla naman napahinto si Dane sa pagsubo nito.
"Dex?'' Bakit bigla niyang naisip na si Dexter ang kausap ni Ashley.
''We're here in MOA, okay, I will wait you here.'' Rinig niyang wika ni Ashley.
"Hindi kaya sa Dexter ang kausap niya Sis?'' Hindi mapigilang tanong ni Stephanie.
She just shrugged her shoulder at ipinagpatuloy ang pagkain.
"Yes, we're here in Chowking." Muli niyang narinig na wika ni Ashley.
Hindi niya alam kung bakit siya kinakabahan. ''Steph, I think we need to go.'' Wika nito sa kaibigan. Tumango naman si Stephanie bilang tugon kay Dane.
Naunang tumayo si Dane, nakailang hakbang na siya ng nagkabunguan sila ng isang lalaki. Maagap naman siyang nasalo ng lalaki.
''I'm sorry.'' Rinig niyang hinging paumanhin ng lalaki sa kanya habang ang mga kamay nito ay nakaalalay sa likod ng dalaga.
That voice, she know perfectly. Kaya naman inangat niya ang mukha niya, tama hindi nga siya nagkakamali. Kilalang-kilala niya ang boses na iyon.
"D-dane?'' Sambit ni Dexter sa pangalan ng dalaga.
''Dex your here, Are you okay miss?'' Tanong ni Ashley sa kanya. Umayos naman siya ng tayo saka tumango kay Ashley.
"Excuse me." Wika nito saka nilampasan si Dexter. Susundan pa sana ni Dexter si Dane ng magsalita si Ashley. ''I miss you Dex.'' Sabay yakap ni Ashley sa binata na sakto naman ng lumingon si Dane sa gawi ng mga ito.
She can help it, but to cry.
