A/N: Hey! Sorry, this is is a bit late and mostly intro info, but I gotta get everything set up before the big meet, and I'm short on writing time! This will be part one of the chap, I plan on having part two out as soon as possible. I'm splitting up larger chapters to avoid the issue of having text cut off, just to be safe. Anyways, enjoy! Katrina's pov

I wake to the smell of bacon wafting into my new room. I get out of my bed, where I crashed only a few hours ago after running the whole way back home, and stretched. I replay the events of last night through my head as I quickly change into clean clothes. A few minutes later, I bound downstairs in a Jacksepticeye "Speed is Key!" shirt and a pair of capris. The mysterious creatures can wait a while, for now...bacon.

"A wild Katrina approaches" Darcy grins at me over the rim of her coffee mug. "Good morning sleepyhead"

"Good morning" I yawned while speaking "Where's Jade?" I asked, I hadn't seen her on my way down and was looking forward to getting to know both of my new aunts.

"Oh, she's already at LIRI, she took the morning ferry"

"There's a ferry?" Huh, interesting

"Yup, Tom Blue takes people back and forth on his boat, I was waiting for you to wake up so I could show you the facility"

"Oh cool, thanks" I was truly interested in seeing the research facility I've been hearing about. Thinking about the islands reminded me about what happened mere hours ago. "Say, Darcy, are there any wolves on these islands?"

"That depends on the islands you speak of, why do you ask?"

"I'm interested," very true "I used to see wolves back home so I wanted to know if you had them here too"

"Well" Darcy paused and scratched her chin "On most other islands, no there are rumors of reintroduced wolves on Bull Island, but the most notorious pack is on Loggerhead Island, where LIRI is."

I paused with  a mouthful of bacon, digesting the new info, as well as the delicious food. Wolves! I was certainly eager to see and possibly befriend a new pack. But my excitement was dampened slightly by the accompanying info, the wolves were on the other island, not this one. That meant that whatever I saw last night weren't wolves, and that left a new question. If they weren't wolves, then what were they?

My thoughts were cut off by Darcy telling me to get ready, because we would be departing for LIRI in "t-minus ten minutes and fifty seconds". So I wolfed down the rest of my food and ran upstairs (so many of them!) to get my stuff. I pulled out my backpack and placed my journal back inside, as well as the second book of the Inheritance Cycle since I finished the first on the way over here. After some consideration, I added my sweatshirt, in case I wanted some warm and cozy comfort, and my septiceye sam and tiny box tim, in case I wanted some plush and cuddly comfort. Grabbing my sneakers from under the bed, I raced back down all of the stairs.

We met Mr. Blue and he ferried us over to Loggerhead island. Thankfully, he didn't ask many questions, I was not in the mood for answering. I sat through most of the ride switching between thinking about the wolves on the island to last night's encounter. Eventually, I shrugged off my funk, I'll find out eventually what those things were. For now, I wanted to explore this new island.

"Now, I will be working most of the day" Darcy started "you can either hang with me or go off exploring. With some luck, you might run into the other resident teens on the island"

That got my attention "Other teenagers?"

"Yep! There are four teens who have parents here as well. Tom has a son, there are two other boys: Hiram and Shelton, and then there's Victoria, who is the director's daughter"

If I had cat ears, they'd have perked up at that. There are fellow teens around here, and a fellow female as well! Not that I didn't mind guys, I grew up hanging around them more than I did with girls (once again, to my parent's dismay, I was a very dismaying child), but after a while their immaturity got on my nerves.

Darcy continued "Anyways, they tend to roam around the island in the woods. They used to get into a ton of trouble out there, but things have changed a bit. Besides, I hear they caused almost as much trouble inside the facility. So you can go check out the flora and fauna out there if you'd like. I'm not sure how into nature you are, but it really is beautiful out there." She paused a bit, then told me that lunch was packed and to be back by noonish to eat. Other than that "have fun and don't get into trouble" were her last words before she departed for her office.

Well, seems like things are going to be interesting around here, that's for sure. Thankfully I may have some fellow teens to hang with, if I manage to get along with them.

I wander outside and head down the first trail I see. It really is wonderful out here, with all sunshine and trees and such. I pause, looking ahead; the trail I was on continues, but I see a small, almost invisible game trail branching off it. Common sense deemed I should stay on the path, but I was illogically drawn towards the game trail. "Ah, screw it" I thought and went down the hidden trail, letting fate play its hand into whatever may happen next.
