A/N: Well this tooka  bit, sorry guys. I'm psyching up for a big test this friday and also plan to see Civil War once the torture is over (who else is going??). To cut my list of excuses short, school is busy and life if difficult. But anyways, let's get back to the story! Feedback is always appreciated either through comments or messages, if you want. Hope you enjoy!

After what seemed like a long ride by ferry, I finally was back at the house. Strangely enough, I was the only one on the ferry besides Mr. Blue who was obviously the one steering it. Once I got home, I raced up all four flights of stairs to my room and practically threw myself onto my bed, curling up into a miserable ball.

I stared wide-eyed at the wall, feeling the silence of the house weighing on me. Darcy and Jade wouldn't be home for another couple hours, so I was completely and utterly alone. Truth is, I hated silence. More than anything, it felt stifling and made me feel weak and exposed. I wanted to scream, cry, sing, anything, just to make some sort of sound.

I had just opened my mouth to utter a ridiculous squeak of some sort when I heard a faint jingling of a bell. My first absurd thought was Santa Claus? The door to my room creaked open a little wider and I saw that it wasn't really Santa Claus, but rather Santa Claws. A black cat with a bright red collar and jingly bell padded into the room. Jade had mentioned him before when I first arrived, but he hadn't made any sort of appearance until now.

Mr. Midnight, I remember his name now, trots over to me trailed by the merry tinkling of his shiny bell. He jumps onto the bed and I extend a cautious hand for him to sniff. He begins to lick it, purring happily. I scritch between his ears and the gleeful purring increased. Smiling a little now, I break my silence and say "You're a big softy, aren't you Mr. Midnight?" Mr. Midnight of course doesn't reply, but continues to purr contentedly.

"Hullo the house!" A voice sounds from outside. Figuring the voice was calling to someone else, I continued to pet the cat. "Is anybody home? I'm looking for a fellow nerdy gamer to adventure with!" Suddenly recognizing the voice, I race to the balcony in a completely cliche manner. I look down and see Hi standing at the front. Grinning in a completely idiotic way, I rush back to my bed, grab Sam and Tim, and go back to the balcony.

Hi was just beginning to turn and walk away when I pelted him with my two plush and cuddly lil cuties. He shouted in surprise as Sam whacked him in the back of the head and dramatically collapsed to the ground as Tim nailed him in the back. Groaning theatrically, he declared in a stage-voice "Alas! I have been hit! A mortal wound with no hope for survival! I have but one request before the darkness swallows me, find me a pretty girl and tell her I love her!"

'What a dork'  I thought to myself as I quickly threw my writing journal, book, sweater, and jeans into a hastily emptied backpack. Deciding to try and surprise him a bit, I go back out to the balcony and descend using the tree. He was still lying on the ground as I jumped down next to him and said. "Your request has been noted, but I'm afraid there are not any girls around that fit your criteria and deserve you that aren't already taken."

I suppressed a giggle as he spasmed in surprise at my unexpected entrance. Rolling over to face me, he slowly got up and dusted himself off. "I believe I would argue against that, but there are factors I may not know at work here". I blushed a bit at his response, but saved myself from an undignified stutter by snagging my stuffed pals and dusting them both off.

"So you wanted to go on an adventure?" I ventured

"Yes! That is, if you aren't busy" He replied

"Welllll....I suppose I could miss diner, as long as I don't miss supper" I winked at him

Understanding the reference (The Hobbit) he grinned and replied "Afternoon tea will be provided"

"Deal" I beamed at him. Hi did a quick, joyful dance and ran off shouting "I'm going on an adventure!"

I snorted and followed after him, muttering jokingly to myself about hobbits, dwarves, and wizards and how well their adventure went last time.
