Chapter 3

We spent the next couple of days unpacking all our things. I was focusing on my bedroom. I wanted it to be the typical teenage bedroom. Like a tumblr bedroom. I was in the middle of hanging up my fairy lights when Mum knocked on the door.

"I'm just going grocery shopping and then I thought I might go and meet some of the neighbours, do you want to come?"

"Uh...not really mum, I've got things to do."

"Okay well I'll see you later then" she smiled closing my door behind her.

I had no interest in food shopping and going to meet new people. I'd make friends at school I didn't need to make friends with the boring neighbours. I'd much rather be hanging up my posters.

By 2 o'clock I had my room exactly the way I wanted it and went downstairs for a well deserved sandwich and to watch some tv.

I had turned on the tv only to find nothing worth watching on. I settled on Masterchef even though I couldn't stand cooking shows.

I heard the jingle of keys in the lock signalling Mum was home.

"Ella can I have a had with the groceries?" Mum called.

I groaned sliding myself off the sofa.

"We have some lovely neighbours."

Mum said as I made my way to the kitchen.

I didn't respond so she took that as me letting her continue.

"Next door to the right are Mr and Mrs Bishop, they're lovely but very old."

"To the left is Mr and Mrs Evans their 2 young girls and boy. All still in primary school."

I had sort of zoned out now as Mum continued to chatter about those residing close to us.

"Oh and opposite us to the left is a lovely lady called Anne and her partner Robin." I nodded politely.

"She has 2 children aswell. Gemma who's off at uni and Harry, he's in your year at school actually."

"They were lovely, you should go and meet them sometime. It'd be good to meet someone your age before you start school again."

"Uhuh" I responded reaching up to put the coffee in the cupboard before taking up my previous position on the sofa.

Ugh, short boring chapter I'm afraid. Not to worry though I'll make it up to you soon.

I figure with the embarrassingly low number of reads I just have to be patient.
