Chapter 6

Today's my first day in BCIU. I'm feeling nervous. Although everything is suppose to be fine kinakabahan parin ako. Mejo gakit parin ako sa nakita ko kahapon sa SM. I wasn't ready for that. I had a hard time sleepong because of that making the darks circles under my eyes darker.

Ang sakit pa ng pwetan ko. Haay jusko naman.

Gusto ko talagang magpalate ngayon, tutal late enrollee naman ako. 9 mins late will be fine.

My first day was like my normal first days during my elementary days. Say your name, where I was from and so on. Everyone was friendly but I ain't got the feels to have friends right now.

For the first time in a long time I was silent in my whole class. Parang nga wala na rin akong naririnig sa tahimik ko. Buti nalang last period na. Hindi pa ako kumakain ng lunch, pero hindi naman ako gutom. I just needed something to do para di ako mabato dito.

Bahala na kahit wala akong kasama. Hindi naman ako mamamatay kung kunwari.

"Bye Alex." Someone said. "Bye" sagot kong tipid. I rushed out of my room and went straight to the nearby cafe. Hindi ko mahagilap canteen nila dito.

I felt my phone vibrated and fished it out of my pocket quickly.

Unknown: san ka pupunta?

me: who u?

Unknown: na-who u agad haha

Me: pwede ba i've had enough with all these unknown numbers texting me.

Unknown: chill ka lang alex. Si alex to. Suplada!

Rolling my eyes, I hit the reply button.

Me: ikaw lang pala eh. Taena mo! Punta ako sa cafe malapit sa school.

I was waiting for his reply but nothing came. I walked pass a lab and a faculty, went out straight from the school and walked a block to the cafe.

I hope maganda service nila dito at masarap ang kape. Wala na akong hihilingin pa.

"Good afternoon ma'am" the bellboy greeted as he open the door for me. "Thank you" I say smiling.

As I scan the room, nahagip ng mata ko si Alex na nakaupo sa may left corner ng cafe. Ugh! Ano nanaman kaya ginagawa nito dito? Wala ba tong klase?

My brows were furrowed as I approach his table. "What are you doing here?" I asked with irritation. "Bakit ba lagi kang nagppms ha? Malamang gusto kong magkape bakit, bawal?" He answered menacingly. Ugh! This guy! May guts pa talaga siyang sagutin ako.

Well, first thing's first. Hindi naman talaga sana ako magagalit sa kanya kung hindi niya binigay num ko kay Faye at pangalawa, hindi sana ako maiirita sa kanya ng ganito kagrabe kung hindi siya ganyan sumagot sa akin!

"Hindi ka uupo?" He obnoxiously asked me which earned a glare from me. Umupo ako sa harap niya at sinubsob ang mukha ko sa lamesa. "What do want?" He asked me. "For you to leave." I said not looking at him.

Tumawa lang siya sa sinabi ko at tumayo papunta sa cashier. Ugh!!!! Damn Alex! Kumukulo talaga dugo ko sa kanya.

After a while, bumalik siya sa table at nilapag ang dalawang kape at donut.

"So, Alex. Kamusta ka na?" He nudged me playfully. I didn't speak. Instead, nagthumbs up lang ako. "Okay" he said taking a bite of his donut. Hindi na siya nagsasalita. Kain lang kain. Langya, ako na nga lang kakausap sa kanya.

I lifted my head and grab his coffee from his hand. "Langya ka talaga Alex!" I slightly yelled at him. "Ano? Bakit? Nilibre na nga kita yan pa sasabihin mo?" He asked, brows furrowed.

"Sinadya mong ibigay kay Faye yung number ko no?" I asked straight. Nakatingin lang siya sa akin tapos bigla siyang tumawa.

"So she did texted you!" He is now laughing with teary eyes and was covering his mouth. Punyeta oh, maka-alis na nga dito.

I stood up but he grabbed my shoulder and pushed me down my seat again. "Wait, let me explain" he said still laughing. "Explain mo mukha mo!" I shouted back.

"Makinig kasi, hindi ako nagbigay. Yung classmate kong ulol ang nagbigay. Alex din kasi pangalan mo dun sa phonebook ko and he thought that was my number." He breathed and laughed again.

"Kahit na, sana nung nalaman mo na ibang number ang binigay sana binawi mo" I said a bit calmer now. "Duh! Ni lumapit nga kay Faye ayoko eh. Yung makausap pa kaya siya? No!" He said now serious.

"Ulol! Shinota mo pa ayaw mo naman pala sa kanya" I say nonchalantly. "Eh nung first year pa yun. Sa tingin mo seryoso yun?" He replied still frowning.

I didn't speak kasi wala naman akong sasabihin. I just reached out for my coffee and donut. We both ate in silence.

"I think it's late. I should go. Thanks sa kape at donut" I say heading for the door. "Hatid na kita" he offered. I just nod and let him be. Hindi ko din lang alam kung san ako pupunta eh.

"Diba taga Aurora Hill ka din? Bat di ka pa uuwi?" I asked pulling my hoodie closer to my neck. Damn its cold. "May pupuntahan pa ako" he said as we walk side by side.

Pagdating ko ng bahay, si tita lang ang nandun. Nasan kaya sila? I looked for Shara in her room but she was not there so I decided to sleep early.

Pagkahiga ko tulog agad ako.

"Alex! Sumagot ka! Hindi ko kelangan ng ngiti mo!" He is shouting at me. I was smiling at him. Hindi ko makita yung mukha niya.

Hinalikan niya ako bigla and when he pulled away, I froze and watch as his warm brown eyes engulf me with love and awe.

Alex.....
