Alex (girl)

Kakatapos ko lang maligo nung magtext sila sa choir na may practice daw kami ngayon. Odd kasi sabado naman ngayon at wala naman akong naaalala na inannounce na may performance kami.

Hindi naman ganun kadaling matutunan yung mga pieces namin kaya nagtataka ako kung anong meron.

I tried calling Kamie to ask kung anong meron pero hindi ko siya macontact. So I decided to just go and find out myself.

Sana umoo nalang ako sa pag-alok ni daddy sa akin ng sasakyan. It's not that I don't like to ride a jeep pero mas convinient kasi pag may sarili akong sasakyan eh.

Nakarating ako sa studio 5 minutes late. Pero wala pa masyadong tao. Pati si Kamie wala pa.

I sat down in my usual sit and started looking for my piece when Kevin approached me.

"Hi" he greeted shyly.

"Hi din. Kuya, thank you pala ah"

"Don't call me kuya" he smiled. "Wala yun" he waved his hand. Umupo siya sa upuan ni Kamie and looked in my direction.

"Tungkol dun......." sumula niya. He looked the other way feeling uncomfortable.

"Alam mo naman siguro kung bakit galit na galit si Maxine sayo diba?" he asked.

"Yeah, I know. Pero, that was all unintentional" I explained.

"Sabi niya inagaw mo daw si Alex sa kanya. And that you started all the fight between them. Gusto ko lang tanungin para hindi lang sa side niya yung pinapakinggan ko" he continued.

"Oo, may kasalanan din ako dun sa mga away nila but it was way beyond my control nung nagbreak sila. She was the one who broke up with him so I have nothing to do with that.

He was rendered speechless. "I never thought you would defend yourself thay way. You're difderent" he blurted.

"Huh?" my brows furrowed.

"I mean in a good way" he raised both his hand in surrender.

"Yeah yeah" I said shaking my head in laughter.

"Close pala kayo ni Maxine" I said nonchalantly. "Oo, ex ko kasi si....." he was cut off with something. He must be remembering something.

"You can spare that detail" I nudged him lightening the tension.

"Kapatid siya ni Selena, my ....... Ex. You see, since Selena went to US, naiwan si Maxine dito sa Pilipinas and we were pretty close since I was the one who looked after her. Allen here always referred to her as a psycho bitch. Nagiging territorial kasi siya sa mga taong malapit sa kanya. Lalo na at si Alex pa" he said shaking his head.

Sasagot sana ako pero sumabay siyang magsalita. "So, you and Alex huh?" he smiled.

"Yeah, it kind of just happened. If that makes sense" I beamed.

"It does" he agreed.

Dumating na si sir hawak yung mga pieces.

"Punta na ako dun, usap nalang tayo pagkatapos nito" he smiled and left. I nodded and smiled.

Wala pa si Kamie. Where the hell is she. Just as I was reaching for my phone, it vibrated.

*can't come Lexi. My head is freakin pounding*

I smiled at my nickname. Yung mga sobrang close lang sa akin tumatawag sa akin ng ganun.

Alex always calls me Lex. I love these names. I'm getting use to them.

I stepped put of the building and welcomed the cool breeze envelope me. Kakatapos lang ng practice namin. I guess I'm going to take the jeep after all. I need to get my own car.

"Penny for you thought?" someone said behind me. i turned and saw Kevin.

I smiled and laughed. "So, where are you going?" curious as always.

"Heading home. But since you're here I'm going to treat you nalang. For saving me the other day" I winked and he smiled.

"I'll give you a ride" he offered. "Sure" I nodded and followed him to his car.

Rich kid din tong isang to. "Nice" I commented.

"Boys and their toys" he winked and it's my turn to laugh.

As I fasten my seatbelt he speaked. "Matagal na akong walang napapasok na caffeine sa system ko. I would love to have coffee" he suggested. "Off to starbucks then" I nodded.

"Alex is something else" I continued after sipping in my frappe. Nathan Sykes crooning through the sound system of the cafe.

"Halata nga" tipid niyang sagot sabay kagat sa blueberry muffin niya. "Iba rin siya sa mga naging kaibigan kong kaedad ninyo" he smiled.

"Oh, you know him?" I asked caught offguard. Kanina pa ako nagkwekwento sa kanya kaibigan naman pala niya.

"Yes, one of the closest" he confirmed. "Nagkakilala kami noon sa battle of the bands sa Trinidad. I admired him kasi ang galing niya maglead guitar. After that, I saw him more times in different events inside and out of Baguio. He would play the bass, drums. Sabi nga niya ang gusto daw niya noon na maging girlfriend eh yung magaling kumanta or yung intouch sa music spirit niya" he stated.

I blushes when he said the part about sa gusto niyang maging future girlfriend. Hindi pa naman niya ako narinig kumanta at magitara so I doubt na yun yung nakita niya sa akin.

"Kaya nga natawa ako nung nalaman kong jinowa niya si Maxine. Wala yung kaalam alam sa music. Unlike her sister" he finished off his cup.

"Ano nga bang nangyari sa inyo ni Selena?" I asked cautiously.

Kwinento naman niya sa akin lahat. Mangyayari kaya yun sa amin? I sounds so epic to me. Sobrang saludo ako kay Kevin. He's so strong. Pagkatapos ng lahat ng nangyari nagawa parin niyang mapatawad si Selena. Swerte magiging girlfriend nito.

"Alex will do the same don't worry" as if he sensed what I've been thinking.

I waved him off laughing.

"Ang swerte ni Alex" he looked into mt eyes. Searching for something like what Alex is doing when he wants to say something.
