She's here, Alex is here. On my birthday, in my house. Everyone's looking at her.
Bilis ko siyang nilapitan, "I'm so glad you came!" I shouted through the loud music.
"I know!" She yelled back. "Is Maxine around? I don't want to ruin your birthday!" She continued.
"She's in the US paying her sister a visit, don't worry," I beamed.
I led her to the buffet table and we started eating. So she loves marshmallows. It was the first thing she picked up and looked so happy about it.
I picked up a plate and filled it with other foods. Kumuha ng drinks and led her to the upper living room.
Wala masyadong tao dito, I guess it will be fine here. Some of our choir memebers are here too. She seems so carefree, youthful. Parang hindi siya nasestress sa buhay.
What should I do? Gusto kong lumayo sa kanya but I also wanted to be on her side always at the same time. Ang sakit na ng ulo ko kakaisip.
"Uy, birthday boy, okay ka lang?" bigla niyang tanong.
Halata ba? "Never better," I beamed.

I smiled back at him. Magsasalita pa sana ako pero bigla kong nakita si Kamie kaya bigla akong tumakbo papunta sa dereksyon niya.
"Wait lang ah," paalam ko kay Kevin. Hindi ko na hinintay sagot niya, binilisan ko nang tumakbo papunta kay Kamie.
Sa saya ko, niyakap ko siya ng sobrang higpit. "Grabe ka naman," pabiro niyang batok sa
akin.
"Bakit hindi ka na pumapasok? Bakit di ka na nagpaparamdam?" Paratang ko sa kanya.
"Sorry Lexi, busy kasi sa paglalakad ng mga papeles," sagot niya.
"Papeles?" I asked raising my brow.
"Let's not talk here," she said and drag me outside.
"Sa France na ako mag-aaral," she announced.
"Really? Oh my gad I'm so happy for you!" I said covering my mouth.
"Sshh, ayokong malaman ng iba. Machismis pang buntis ako eh," she joked.
"No, seriously, I'm so happy for you. Bakit ngayon mo lang sinasabi ha?" I asked now folding my arms over my chest.
"Things happen all of a sudden, hindi pa nga nagsisink in sa akin eh. My mom wanted me there so I think it won't hurt if I try, does it?" She smiled.
"Oo naman, pero mamimiss kita, sobra," I pouted.
"Aww," she pinched my nose.
"Aray ko naman," I complained.
"Enough about me, buti pinapansin ka na ni Kevin?" she said totally diverting the topic.
