Lily's POV:
I had a great time with Remus yesterday! We went to the Leaky Cauldron and had a Butterbeer. It was the first time I tried one and it was delicious! We talked about loads of things but Remus seemed a little unwell. He had bags under his eyes and he was a bit pale. But even so, it gave me a warm feeling to have seen a friend again.

I am still looking forward to tomorrow! Marlene told me to meet me in the Leaky Cauldron tomorrow at around five. That way I will have time to go into Muggle-London tomorrow with Mum before going into Diagon Alley. I would be coming back here, one day before going to Hogwarts. I am really looking forward to seeing my friends again! I'm also looking forward to be able to do magic again! I still have to wait till the 30th of January to have permission to do magic outside of school. The one person who I was not looking forward to see was Severus Snape. He is a Slytherin who used to be my friend until he hurt me. Not by using a spell or anything but by one particular word.

'Flashback'

It was a summers day and we had just finished the exam for the day. There was one exam to go the following day. I decided to go and study outside, by a tree. I had a lovely view of the Black Lake and the mountains and Hogwarts itself. It was calm and quiet until I heard some people talking. I couldn't exactly hear it. I did see Remus, Sirius, Peter and Potter. I heard Remus asking Sirius to test him on Transfiguration. Then Potter looked at Severus, who had approached silently. "Ah Snivellus!' Sirius said softly. "Alright Snivellus?" Potter said loudly. Severus plunged his hand in his robes for his wand but Potter was quicker. They were teasing him but I had already turned away, not knowing what was happening. I heard someone pant and someone calling, "Scourgify!" I saw pink soap bubbles streaming from his mouth. I couldn't bear it any longer and called, "Leave him ALONE!" They turned to look at me and then just simply laughed. I told them more times to stop but they wouldn't listen. "I will if you go out with me, Evans." Potter suddenly replied, after I had called him an arrogant toerag. I felt like I was going to puke. "I wouldn't go out with you if it was a choice between you and the giant squid," I said coldly. "Bad luck Prongs," Sirius said. I didn't understand why they keep calling each other weird names. They kept going on with pestering Severus. After one last time of shouting, they finally dropped him. I would have at least expected a 'thank you' from Severus but he said something else, I would never had thought he would say that! "I don't need help from filthy little Mudbloods like her!" I gasped, so did everyone else but I didn't want Severus to see that he had hurt me. "Fine! I won't bother in the future. And I'd wash your pants if I were you, Snivellus!" I replied. Suddenly Potter roared to Snape to apologise but I didn't want him to make Snivellus to apologise to me. I knew I was never going to forgive Severus for that. I ignored everyone and ran into the castle, to my dorm. Luckily Marlene and Mary were there for me. I cried a lot and didn't fall asleep. They helped me and were there for me.'

I decide to start packing my bag. I'm bringing two books, I love reading and I know that Marlene always gets up really late so I will need something for in the mornings. I do love going to Marlene. Her parents are really kind and so is her sister. I'm hoping to see some more friends while staying at Marlene.

After twenty minutes of packing, I wonder whether or not to start packing my trunk. I decide to and put one pair of robes in there, my leftover pieces of parchment from last year and a quill. Luckily Mum is coming with me to Diagon Alley so she can take my school stuff back home. I seriously need to get a new pair of school robes and I might buy an outfit for the Hallowe'en ball or the 'Leavers' Ball in Hogsmeade. The Leavers Ball is a feast to celebrate our graduation and the Head Boy and Girl will have to do a speech. I'm looking forward to go to Hogsmeade again, which reminds me to let Mum or Dad sign the form.

Mum calls me after a while for dinner. I'm not really hungry but I guess I have to eat.

I quickly finish my dinner, trying to avoid Petunia's glares and then hurry back upstairs.

I quickly turn on the shower, knowing I won't have time tomorrow morning to have one. Once the water gets warm, I step in and let the water run over my face and body. I take my flowery-smelling shampoo and gently rub it in my hair. I wait for a few minutes and they rinse it. I do the same with my conditioner. While waiting, I shave my legs. I know it will be a warm day tomorrow so I will probably wear my favourite dress! After about seven minutes I turn off the tap and get two towels from the cupboard. I wrap my hair in the first one and dry my body with the other.

I return to my room and put on my pyjamas. I unwrap my hair from the towel and start brushing it in front of my mirror. I have unfortunately got really thick, fiery red hair. It's almost impossible to get all the knots out.

When I finally untangle my hair, I braid it to a simple plait. That way it won't be too messy in the morning. After drying my hands on a towel, I get my book from the table and get under the covers. I open my book and start reading.

After a while, someone knocks on my door. Mum comes in and asks if I have everything ready for the next day. I was just about to say yes when I realised that I still needed Muggle and Wizard money. I put my book down and get out from under the covers. I pick up a box, whisper the password and take my Gringotts key. I put it in my handbag, together with my purse full of pounds.

I go downstairs for a mug of hot chocolate. I see Petunia watching the evening news. I don't really care about the Muggle news anymore. It's a shame I gave up reading the Daily Prophet but the most of the things they wrote is just nonsense. Petunia completely ignores me when I walk into the room but I really don't care anymore. I sit down at the table and receive my hot chocolate. I sit for a moment and wait until somebody is going to say anything but after a while I drift off to my own thoughts. How would it be to be Head Girl? I was imagining how it would be to help all the little children until I got whipped out of my thoughts by Mum. She told me to go to bed because we would be up early tomorrow.

I kiss Mum and Dad goodnight and say goodnight to Petunia, who mumbles back something inaudible.

I slump upstairs, brush my teeth and fall onto my bed and fall asleep straight away.
