We slowed down as I poked my paws out through the bars of the carrier and cried for someone to pay attention to me. I was hoping they would take me out so I could run when they open the door but they didn't. Finally, Lisa looked at me and giggled "silly kitty. We aren't home yet!" 'Oh great, I'm in a cage longing for a way to get out to find my family while you are sitting down smiling wanting me to be trapped in a house' thought to myself rolling my eyes as I laid down and fell asleep.
We hit a bump which made me bump my head on the top of my carrier. It hurt and I awoke with a loud meow in pain. " Oh my gosh, are you okay Liela!?"Lisa asked me as she unlocked my cage, graves me and held me close to her. "Lisa put her back in her cage. We're almost home."Missy said. "But mom",Lisa argued,"she bumped her head. I was checking if she's okay." "Okay, but she'll be fine. She's a tough cookie. Speaking of cookie, what are you going to rename her? That is, if you are going to rename her" Missy asked. "Her name is going to stay as Liela. It has a nice ring to it anyways"Lisa told her mom looking into my eyes.
"Yes. Yes it does have a nice ring to it doesn't it?"missy asked herself agreeably with a chuckle.
"I wonder how it was like to be her. It must have been tough. Hearing everything she's been through saddens me to think how it would be like to be her in those situations. It must have been scary to have been taken away from your family and to be looked after by a stranger. Then to find out your caretaker died. And to be taken to a strange building full of unfamiliar pets and people. To stay in a building for a few weeks waiting until someone wants you. She had to trust so many strange people who she didn't even know."Lisa said sadly.
'How did she know everything I've been through' asked myself. She looked at me as if she knew what I was thinking. She said "Jim told me about her owner and every kitten is usually born with at least their mom and siblings. I know it was random but it was just a thought I was having. I was just..." She paused and smiled at me "thinking " she said as she looked away from me still sneaking glances with a smile.
I jumped off her lap and went back into my carrier. "Sorry Liela , I didn't mean to upset you or remind you of what happened." Lisa apologized. I poked my head out with a look in my eyes to say it all,"you went too far but I forgive you." Before Lisa could reply to my eye comment Missy said" Lisa she's a kitten. She can't understand you. Stop letting your imagination get the best of you." " But mom, I understand her through her eyes. I can feel what she says"Lisa said truthfully. "Lisa animals can't talk" Missy said trying to get her to listen.
"But-"Lisa tried to say before her mom interrupted again.
"ENOUGH LISA" Missy yelled at her.
"I'm not lying though,"I heard Lisa mumble to herself.
We pulled in the drive way 3 minutes after that incident and it was still silent. I was glad we were there because it felt like we were in that car for forever. But we were only in the car for 30minutes. I was put in the carrier as they locked it. I looked through the bars and seen the house.
