~Sayuri's P.O.V.~
I opened my eyes, sunlight streaming into my small room. I rubbed my eyes, yawning. I sat up, poking Hana with my foot. "Morning, sleepyhead." I reached over, stroking her pink fur. "Aye..." Hana yawned. I crawled out from underneath the blankets. I stood up and walked over to my small drawer stuffed with clothes. I took off my pajamas and slipped on one of my black and white casual dresses. I tossed Hana her jacket. "Shmanks." Hana said, her mouth full of fish. "Where did you get that? We haven't even gone down for breakfast yet!" I scolded her. "Mr. Isaac-san gave me some the other day. He does own the city's most popular fish stand, after all!" She exclaimed. "Shinju-san won't be pleased." I turned around, grabbing my bag off of the small table Hana and I shared. I hurried downstairs, tossing it over my shoulder. "Good morning, Mr. Isaac! Ms. Shinju!" I greeted the old Mori couple. "Good morning, darling! I have to run some errands early today, so here is your breakfast!" Shinju-san handed me a small paper bag. I took the bag and carefully placed it in my satchel. "Aye! Sorry I'm late, Mr. Isaac, Ms. Shinju!" Hana huffed as she flew down the stairs. Shinju-san handed her another paper bag. Hana tucked it into her bag and took off out the door. "Now, Sayuri, I don't want you to get in trouble again for stealing jobs from the nearby guild. They've already sent someone down as a warning. Next time, you will be punished." Isaac-san grumbled. "Oh, right! Won't happen again!" I called out, zooming out the door.
I ran as fast as I could to the guild. I peaked into one of the windows. I observed the other wizards carefully. Three were looking for jobs, eleven were drinking booze, and the rest were off doing their own thing. I rested my head on the windowsill. I yawned. Ugh, why has it been so boring lately? I peeked over at the request board. I spotted a job with a reward of 300,000 jewel. Oh, that much money would be nice. I'd finally be able to buy a new outfit, and maybe even a sword! A boy looked over towards me. I ducked, barely avoiding his fierce stare. I peeked over the edge, making sure that he had looked away. I looked around the guild, realizing that everyone was gone. I opened the window, just far enough so that I could slip in. I crawled through the window and walked towards the request board. I quickly ripped off the flier that read "Slay the monster. Reward: 300,000 jewel. Location: Magnolia, Fiore.". I turned around and looked down at my feet. Ugh, I forgot my shoes again?! Why do I keep doing this? I looked up. I stared in shock as the very same boy who had nearly caught me before was leaning against the windowsill where I had been watching from.
"Going somewhere?" He smirked. "I-- Uh.." I stuttered. "Don't even try escaping." He growled, a sword appearing in his hand. "R-requip?" I stammered. "Mhmm." His smirk widened. I smirked back at him, holding up two fingers. I planted my right foot into the ground, strengthening my attacking position. "Hmm. How about we make a deal? If I win, you hand back the flier and I turn you into the guild." The boy said. "What if I win?" I smiled. "You won't." He growled. I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Kansō!" The boy said. Two identical samurai swords appeared in his hands. He charged at me, as fast as lightning. Unfortunately, I was faster. "Iron Ice Blade!" I smirked. I quickly formed a sword in my right hand and swiftly blocked his attack. The boy pushed in with his swords, causing me to slide backwards. I reached out with my left hand, iron snowflakes spiraling from my palm. The snowflakes shot at the boy, gnawing away at his feet. He stopped pushing with his swords and leapt backwards onto one of the tables. As the boy's two swords disappeared, a larger sword appeared in their place. He rammed into me, hitting me with the side of his sword. I slid backwards, landing on my back. I quickly jumped to my feet, only to be rammed down to the ground a second time. The boy ran towards me, his giant sword in hand. I held out my hand, my palm facing his sword. "Freeze Shell!" I yelled. Iron ice formed around the boy's sword, stopping it. I quickly jumped backwards. The boy swiftly destroyed my shield and charged at me, his large sword turning into the twin samurai swords. He slashed at my throat, barely missing. I stumbled backwards, falling on my back. As he prepared himself to deliver the final blow, I rolled out of the way. "Iron Ice Pillar!" I yelled. The boy charged at me once again. I held out two fingers. A large, iron ice pillar rose from the ground, striking the boy in the chin. He fell onto his back, sweat pouring down his face. I walked over to him. I held out my hand, waiting for him to take it so that he may stand.
"Aren't you going to take it?" I asked, annoyed. "I lost.." He gulped. "Yeah, so? Just take my hand so you can get up, already." I rolled my eyes. He grabbed onto my hand and I pulled him to his feet. "I didn't expect you to be-- well, uh, that powerful." He huffed. "You're pretty tough, too, y'know?" I smiled. "Eh.." He sighed. "I'm Sayuri Mori, but you can call me Sayuri. What's your name?" I looked at him. "Uhh, I'm Tamotsu. Tamotsu Kiyomizu." He stammered. "Here's your flier back." I handed him back the request. "Nah, it's fine. You earned it." He smiled weakly. "Hmm... What if you took the job and I met up with you? That way, neither of us would get in trouble!" I suggested. "Oh, um, sure. I'm not sure what the Master will think of this... But I can try. Meet me here at noon." Tamotsu said. "Okay!" I smiled. I crawled out the window. I peeked inside one last time, staring in shock at all the damage that we had caused. Hopefully no one will notice.. I gulped. "Aye! There you are! I brought you some fish. Isaac-san took me with him-- AYE!! WHAT HAPPENED IN THERE?!" Hana stared into the window. "Oh, I made a new friend." I smiled at her. "Oh no.." Hana huffed.
