...

It's been about a week since i've talked to Adeline. I can't really say that i was surprised when she didn't show up at our spot the first day, but so far she hasn't showed up anydays. I knew that she would be upset with me either way about Amanda, but i had no clue it would go to this extreme. It's about enough to make me go mad.

"Well where do you think she is?" I ask into the phone.

"I don't know mate." Calum speaks back. "I haven't really seen here around either."

"Why do i feel like your lying through you teeth?"

"Probably because i am." He says truthfully, which makes me grow angry. "Look, if she wanted to talk to you, she would've already showed up at your door. Maybe she just needs some space and you breathing down her neck isn't going to help that."

"So you've been talking to her?" I question, ignoring everything that Calum had just said.

"Yeah, and she's pretty pissed about the whole situation."

"What's happening to you? It's not like you to betray me for some girl." I spat, instantly feeling guilty for ever letting that leave my mouth.

"This 'some girl' seems to mean a lot to you than just 'some girl', Luke. You'd do the same thing if you were in my position. I'm just protecting her, just like i'm doing for you."

At this time, my phone beeps informing me that i had an incoming call. "Whatever. I've got another call, i can just find you behind my back." I scoff and answer the waiting call.

"Hello?"

"Luke, it's mum. You need to come to the hospital. It's about Ashton."

"What's wrong with him? Is he okay?" I panic, frantically running around the room to throw on clothes.

"He's fine dear. His mother is here. He just found out she has cancer, and is going to need the love and support of all of you guys."

"O-okay. I'm on my way over." I stutter, ending the phone call.

I arrive at the hospital in about 15 minutes. As i'm walking through the doors, i realize that this will be the first time that i'll see my mother since our fallout. My palms start to sweat, but nothing could prepare me for my nightmare standing next to Ashton, talking to him in that comforting way she's always been good at.

"Hey Luke thanks for coming." Ashton sadly smiles at me as i shuffle in the room.

"I'd be here regardless man." I nod to him, scanning everyone's face. Even Adeline's.

"It feels like it's been ages since i've seen you." My mum smiles deeply, engulfing me in a hug.

"Yeah i know. I think now would be the best time to apolgize to you." I lightly laugh but my mother's faces turns stern. "Sorry, mum. I was really rude to you, and it was uncalled for. I love you though and i'm sorry."

"I love you too, son. Come back home."

"We'll see." I smile and hug her once more.

"She'll get better Ash. I just know it." Adeline rubs Ashton's arm in a conforting manner, trying to make him stop crying.

"I guess you guys know why i was so rude with you all here lately." He chuckles. Then turns directly to Addy. "Sorry, Ad."

"Understandable." She replies, kissing his cheek sending fire though my eyes. Michael, Calum, and even Ashton look my way with fear in their eyes. "I need to go to work though."

"Yeah. Go. I'll be here." Ashton nods.

"You sure?"

"Of course. I don't want to hold you back."

"You've never held me back." She assures him, but i can't help feeling like that was shade thrown at me. Nevertheless she grabs her bags and walks towards the door which is in my direction.

"Addy..." I whisper her name, trying to reach for her arm, but she stands there and sends me a cold look before turning on her heels.

After the hospital, i go back home and start packing since i finally agreed to move back in with mum. I was surprised she was letting me come back after all i did. On my way over to drop off some boxes, i pass her work. I can't help but walk in and hope she'd give me a chance.

"Grace you've got this one." Adeline scolds when she sees my face enter the parlor.

"No, no. Adeline, please." I beg her and she has no choice but to turn back around.

"What can i get you?"

"I need to talk to you."

"I don't talk with the costumers. Please place your order, or i can get some else for you."

"Just meet me at our spot today at our normal time, okay?"

"If your not going to order, please leave." She sniffs, like she's about to cry, which breaks my heart.

"Sure." I nod sadly, and wait for 6:00.

~Xx~

Here i was. 6:00 and no Adeline. I had come here everyday for the past week, hoping that she would show, but nothing. And this time isn't any different. My hearts pounds in my chest as i watch a figure walk up to our table. This figure was actually Adeline.

"You came." I say. She shrugs. "Tell me what to do to make it up to you. I'm sorry, Addy."

Addy shakes her head at the ground. "I am too." She whispers.

"Why?"

"For believing all your lies and continuesly falling into your trap." Her words grow louder and louder. "I should've known you were too good to be true. I should've known."

"No, Adeline. I'm sorry. How many more times do i have to say so?"

"When you hear something over and over you learn to just block it out."

"What are you saying?" I hesitantly ask.

"We should just call it quits. We're no good for each other. We-"

"Don't do this. Please think about what your saying." I plead with her.

"I have. Two wrongs don't make it right, Luke. It's over." Tears run down both of our faces as she walks away from me. I swear i could hear my heart shattering with every step she took, because she was walking on it. I really did it this time.

But i wasn't ready to accept it. I had to get her back, and i knew just the trick. Fingers crossed that it will work.
