Don’t you just hate it when embarrassing things happen? How about embarrassing things that happen in public? Yes these moments are horrifying and sometimes even more horrifying for people near the person. Teens have to deal with a lot of embarrassing situations also. Here I have added embarrassing situation I have been through, and/or embarrassing situations other people have gone through. I have added how to get over them, and how to prevent them.
Grandparents can say embarrassing things or do embarrassing things sometimes. My grandma says everything really loudly (Because her hearing is off), so the situations attract more people, and are even more embarrassing than you think. Remember, we still love our grandparents, even if they embarrass us sometimes.
Parents also have some habits on embarrassing their children. We still love them also. They are wonderful! They usually are trying to help us. My stories;
I had this crush on a guy, and I wrote it in my diary. I bring my diary absolutely everywhere. My grandma must have been snooping one day when I was at her house, because the next time we were out shopping, she pointed to my crush, and said “Is that the guy you like, Billybob (No that is not his name). I can see why you like him he is very cute!” My crush unfortunately never talked to me again, after laughing like an idiot with his friends after the situation.
Parents embarrass their children a lot also. I have a lot of situations like this. One time, I was at a store, and my mom brought me to the bra section. We wanted to know whether a bra fit me or not, so she had me try the bra on over my shirt. A mother and daughter walked by, and the daughter stood still staring at me with the bra still over my shirt. I was happy that only the little girl saw me like that, but it was still embarrassing! Teens talking-
One teen says that she never gets over embarrassing moments, and that she does nothing to prevent them. She just stays embarrassed. She gets angry a lot, and has a tough time with embarrassing situations.
Another teen says that she also does not get over situations, but instead works hard on preventing the situation. She wants to make sure that she won’t get in embarrassing situations, because she knows that she cannot get over them.
There are many other factors for embarrassment. It’s summer right now, but school can also be an embarrassing place, from the teachers, the students, and even some of the lessons you have to do.
Other teen’s stories;
“I have many embarrassing moments in school. My friend and I like to text messages back and forth sometimes. I was bored one time, so I texted my friend. The message was talking about how boring the lesson was. Turns out my friend did not put her phone on vibrate. The teacher grabbed the phone, and read the message aloud.”
“One night, my brother was messing with stickers. The next morning, I had a huge project. When I got up there, the class started laughing. I turned around, and they told me that I had a “Dora the Explorer” sticker on my butt.”
My advice;
Embarrassing situations are awful. If it is one person that is bothering you, talk to them. If it was something in front of the whole class, try to think that you at least brought pleasure to the whole class. Grandparents or parents are at least trying to help you, and may not notice where they went wrong. In a year, you should be over it, or even forget about it.
