Chapter 4

Jim sat in the car watching Johanna talk with a man she was meeting. He didn't want to jump to conclusions but they sure did look like they were close. Johanna shook the mans hand and walked back to the car sliding into the passenger seat.

"Sorry he likes to talk and catch up." Johanna said Jim only nodded putting the car in drive. "What's this place we are going?"

"Uh it's Rick's bar, The Old Haunt, he bought it a few years ago after the owner died." Jim explained.

"Jim is everything okay?" Johanna asked laying her hand on his.

"It's fine" He said looking at her with a soft smile.

"There was a time when you would tell me everything." Johanna said simply.

"I promise it's nothing Jo, just work." He said looking back at the road.

"Speaking of, are you alright with me doing this whole consaulting with NYPD? I won't do it if it worries you."

"It's fine, that was your life for 16 years, I don't blame you for not wanting to leave it behind."
They pulled up to the bar and Jim put the car in park not saying anything more. They got out and walked in looking around for Kate. She was standing with Lanie laughing about something, Johanna smiled seeing her baby bump.

"Glad you guys could make it" Rick smiled walking up.

"Of course" Johanna smiled,

"We have the back room for the party but you guys want anything to drink we get it at the bar but just tell Jake your with us and he'll put you on the tab." Rick said as Kate walked up smiling at Johanna and Jim.

"Hey sweetie, how are you feeling?" Johanna asked, Kate sighed.

"Miserable, this is worse than the first one." Kate said looking at Rick.

"That's my fault why?" Rick asked, Kate smiled rolling her eyes.

"Come on I want you to meet people." Kate said looking at Johanna.

"Can you actually give your dad and I a second?"

"Sure" Kate said pulling Rick away.

"What?" Jim asked.

"I know that we aren't going to get back to the way things were right away and what I did was hard on all of us. But I love you and I always have, I can't stand the idea that your mad at me."

"Jo you think I'm mad at you?" Jim said looking at Johanna.

"You've been acting weird since you got off work and since I met with my handler."

"Yes I'm mad that you had this life without Katie or I for 16 years but I'm not mad at you."

"So what is going on then because this isn't you." Johanna said crossing her arms.

"I didn't work late tonight" Jim admitted reaching into his coat pocket. "I got of work and went to the jeweler." He pulled out a box looking at it then at her.

"What?" She breathed, he smiled getting down onto one knee.

"We missed out on 16 years of each others lives and I don't want to miss anymore, will you marry me again Johanna?" Johanna smiled nodding slowly.

"Yes, now get up before you hurt yourself." Johanna laughed letting Jim stand up and slide the ring on her finger. She smiled kissing him softly.

"Do you like it?" He asked she laughed looking at him.

"It's gorgeous." She smiled. "Did you know about this?" Johanna asked looking at Kate who laughed and nodded.

"Yeah" Kate beamed. "But neither of you know about this" Kate said handing her mother an envelope.

"Before Johanna opens it Kate and I need to make an announcement." Rick said loudly.

"We're having another baby." Kate smiled.

"We know" Esposito laughed everyone chuckled.

"We all know what pregnant Beckett looks like now, we've been waiting" Ryan smirked.

"Okay then, go ahead and open it." Kate laughed.

Johanna opened the envelope pulling out a photo of an ultrasound, looking at it for a moment she gasped looking at Kate who smiled.

"What?" Jim asked taking it from his wife as she hugged Kate almost in tears. "I have no clue what I'm even looking at." Kate laughed moving to help her father.

"What does that say?" Kate asked pointing to a small dot.

"A" He said, she pointed to another.

"What about that?"

"B? Are you having twins?" Kate laughed.

"Yeah"

"Wait what?" Lanie screached as did Alexis.

"Dad why didn't you tell me?" Alexis asked running up to him giving him a tight hug.

"We wanted it to be a surprise" Kate said after hugging her dad.

"Well I think you succeeded Katherine" Martha said looking at the ultrasound.

Kate smiled when Rick laid his hands on her side stepping closer to her, she looked at him smiling before receiving more congratulations. Johanna moved closer to Jim taking his hand in hers.

"That was a shock" Jim said Johanna looked at him.

"I don't think I can take any more surprises tonight." Johanna sighed.

"Don't worry that's all from me" He smiled kissing her temple.

"It was a great surprise" She smiled looking at him.

"I love you" He said softly, she smiled moving to stand in front of him.

"I love you too" She smiled feeling his lips press against her forehead.
