Angela Percy

The snow was fresh on the ground as I stepped out of my car that was parked in front of the medium sized building of the research center.

Charm came jumping out after on his new leash and harness. I'd called Sue and told her I couldn't leave Charm alone.

She told me that Dr.Jules had an old sledding dog named Lobo, and he came with her to work everyday. So I decided to take Charm with me.

And I found out last night he's already house trained, he waited by the door and barked at me for ten minutes before I finally took him out on a walk and he did his business.

He seemed like the perfect pet for me, and maybe I'd have a small outdoor fenced in pen for him to go out and use through a dog door, just until I could get him to not run away without a leash on.

I locked the truck and we made our way up to the front doors of the older looking building.

The warm air flooded my body as I stepped inside, Charm scrambling in behind me.

He wasn't a small puppy so he didn't have a problem pushing against my leg to get inside.

I reached down and took him in my arms and smiled at him. "First day." I petted his head and made my way to the front desk where a middle aged woman with red hair and green eyes sat, typing away on a fairly new desk top computer.

I smiled at her."Hello, I'm Angela Percy, I'm supposed to be starting with Dr.-"

"Jules, yes she's been expecting you. And what a cute puppy!" She exclaimed scratching his ear. "Does he have a name?" She asked and I nodded. "His name's Charm."

"Charm... What an adorable name." She cooed at him and he let out a little bark making her chuckle.

"Well my name's Helen, My husband is Dr.Mitchell, the head of the rivers and lakes research here at Fairbanks Center For Wildlife Protection and Studies." She came around the desk and began walking me down the hall towards a wooden door on the right.

"We work in part with Wildlife Services and Protection, so Dr.Jules runs research of plants and animals, she works directly with Dr.Barns, the town's domestic and wildlife veterinarian." She told me as we entered into a meeting room with offices around it.

"This is A-Wing, where yours and the other scientists working here have their offices, there are conference rooms upstairs. B-Wing is where our animal housing and study facilities are located. C-Wing is where our labs are located. And D-Wing is where the Wildlife Service and Protection Agency is settled." She informed me as she guided me to the office straight ahead of us.

The door was printed with "Dr.Jules" in black letters. "This is Dr.Jules' office, she will be getting you settled." Helen smiled.

"Thank you." I returned it warmly, Charm licking my cheek.

I knocked on the door. "Come in." A woman's voice called.

A woman with honey brown hair and bright blue eyes sat behind the desk. She was older, probably in her mid-fifties.

An old husky with all brown fur with one blue and one brown eye sat next to the desk in an old dog bed and immediately perked up when he saw me standing there with Charm.
