"Mar, where's 'Aladdin'?" Laura yelled from my room. I paused momentarily and thought.
"I'm not sure, try the DVD shelf?" I questioned my own logic and right on cue, the microwave beeped at me. I expertly opened the door whilst holding two drinks and grabbed the popcorn before bounding up the stairs two at a time.
As I reached the door of my room, Laura called,
"I found it," and she turned around to see me standing there, leaning against the wall, "oh, you're there...oooh, popcorn!" I chuckled at her childishness as she snatched the bag from me and plopped down on my bed. I placed our drinks on my bedside table. I joined her as the movie started and lifted the covers over myself. Instantly, Laura was pulling my arm round her neck as she scooted closer into my side.
Five minutes into the movie, I lost interest, but 'Aladdin' was one of my favourite films. Yeah, don't judge me, I love Disney! Like, so much I wanna go to Disney World for my honeymoon, that is, if I ever get married. I found myself staring at Laura, yeah, we're best friends, and yeah, I have a massive crush on her. I mean, she knows about it, but I'm the nerdiest kid in school, and even though she's not in the 'fake popular' group, she's still so far outta my reach.
I looked back at the screen, just in time to catch a kiss between Aladdin and Jasmine. I sighed and muttered,
"I wish my first kiss would be like that," Laura slowly turned her head to look at me, her eyes scanning my face before whispering,
"It can be," She cupped my face in her dainty hands, leaning towards me slowly. Her eyes fluttered closed, as did mine. I felt our lips connect and, I know that it sounds so cliché, but I swear, I actually felt fireworks.
After a short, sweet kiss, we pulled away and she smiled.
"That was nice Mar, maybe we should do it again sometime?" I couldn't trust my voice, so I grinned widely and nodded my head vigorously.
The next day, Laura and I walked into school hand in hand, ready to face the world.
