When life turns to be unfair
C h a p t e r 2: Surprise!
There are a few things we can never control, like dying, getting our hearts broken, forgetting and hurting. We may try to avoid them, but we can't avoid experiencing some of them, to learn a little bit of life.
But still, when you experience more than you should, you'll learn things you're never meant to learn.

Declan left the room to let Valencia get some rest after talking for a bit. As for her, she just stood facing the door for a few seconds.
Don't leave me alone, I don't like to be alone.
She lay down on the bed and looked at the roof. Valencia wasn't the kind of person who could sleep immediately. She would stay awake for hours in her bed, thinking. She has a lot to think about, anyway.
Her eyes started to close slowly, ready to let her see what she used to see every time she fell asleep; black and darkness everywhere, demons in human shape and what seemed to be her reality for the past years.

"Val, wake up, sister; dinner's ready."
She opened her eyes wide with a panicked look.
She yelled, "Please don't hurt me!" She had a scared look on her face. Zack almost jumped, worried. He advanced to her and said calmly, "It's me, Val, it's Zack! It's okay, breathe slowly."
She looked at him in the eyes, realizing she was home, that was her brother and she was safe.
Oh my god.
"I'm sorry, Zack, I didn't mean to do this..." She panicked even more; her breathing became fast.
Calm down... Calm down. Remember your practice.
"It's okay... You were probably having a bad dream. I came to tell you that dinner's ready."
He didn't want to push her to talk. She'll talk to him about it if she feels like it later.
Everyone has nightmares anyway, because everyone has fears.
Valencia walked to the bathroom with heavy steps. She hid her tattoo with some makeup.
She smiled several times in front of the mirror, seeing which smile looks more natural. Afterwards, she walked out to the dining room, where she found her brother and Declan sitting having a little chat.
He didn't leave yet?
She smiled and advanced toward them. She sat down; they did the same. She looked at Declan. He looked much more mature now, they all did. He was smiling at her, admiring her. His Valencia was back, after three years.
When he got that call from Zack, he almost threw himself out of the window.
"So V, tell us, did you have fun there? Without me around?" he asked.
She tried to control her heartbeat, her breathing and her shaking hands. She closed her eyes and answered, "You can't even imagine."
There was a lot of sarcasm in her voice, but both of the young men were blinded by the smile she was wearing to even notice that something was wrong, that everything was wrong.
