Calls

It was around 8 in the evening when the door bell rang and I rushed to get it and once I opened the door I immediately regretted it. "Forgive me please Tiana, I should have never cheated on you, never hit you I shouldn't have caused you any pain, physically, mentally or emotionally. Take me back please", Chris was standing there with a bouquet of flowers, I stroked my braids whilst my other hand rested on my hip. "I accept your apology but Chris with all honesty you're not what I want anymore. I think it's best that you leave". "But I apologised!", he shouted, "so what if you apologised I don't want you anymore, I don't need you anymore, you can go to Keisha, now goodbye", I shut the door laughing to myself, proud that I meant business when no is no and I didn't give in. 

Just as I was relaxing in my room I got a phone call from Cameron. "You're supposed to book an appointment first before you call me", I laughed, "Well sorry, just wanted to hear your voice and see how you were". I smiled and stretched out on my bed, "oh bruh, I'm good I guess but not that long ago Chris stopped by to apologise", I sighed, "what was he apologising for?", he questioned, "oh I thought I told you. He cheated on me with a girl called Keisha and he hit me causing a bruise to left. You probably didn't see it because of my makeup", Cameron gasped in shock, "he cheated on you and hit you! He's crazy. Wait - you were wearing make up, this is why you take girls swimming on the first date". "You stupid, it shouldn't matter what the girl looks like. Plus I don't have to worry about that I'm a Queen and I don't need a man to decide whether I'm pretty or not. I don't need a man I need a King", he mumbled under his breath, "you want me to be your King though". "Excuse you", "what did I say?", he laughed.

The phone call carried on for about 2 hours till we both decided it was getting late. Cameron was genuinely a good person, had feelings developed - I don't think so but I'm not too sure if I could say the same on his side.

"Tiana, are you finally off that phone now?", Alyssia folded her arms, "yeah and I thought you were out?", "well you were too engrossed in your conversation to notice I came back . Who the hell were you on the phone with?", she tried to grab my phone but I snatched it back. "Why you hiding it for?", she paused for a while with confusion until she smiled cheekily, "ohhhh it's Cameron right. And you guys say you're just friends. How long was the conversation?". "umm two hours", I tried to say as casually as possible, "Two hours! Friends don't talk on the phone for that long, not a boy and a girl!", she screamed jumping up and down. I laughed at her silliness but then it made me start to wonder if there was actually a possibility that we'd date. "Stop your foolishness and get out my room, I'm going to sleep", I pushed her off the bed, "fine I'll go and leave you to dream about Cameron", she smiled before shutting the door.

I woke up with a smile on my face as the light poured in from my balcony, birds tweeted from a distance and the sound of the wind whistling through the trees was faint, the last time I noticed life like this was when I was in love. I rolled over and checked my phone to see a message from Cameron, saying "I'm hungry" at 2:48 am. I texted him back.

Cameron: I'm hungry
Tiana: why'd you text me so late, I wouldn't of come out my house
Cameron: bruh I was hungry and I was going to go KFC and see if you wanted to come
Tiana: is that offer for KFC still on, I'm feeling for it now
Cameron: you wanna go KFC? I could take you some place better
Tiana: we're just friends you ain't gotta go the extra mile. KFC is fine
Cameron: Aight see you soon

"Alyssia I'm going KFC with Cameron!", I shouted down the stairs, "oooh yass girl, go get ready", she shouted back, "we're just friends!".
