Nothing lasts forever

Stagnant

It's been about a week and my relationship with Isiah hasn't moved forward or back, we're stagnant. Infact I see Chris more often than I see Isiah. Alyssia is always inviting him and Jermaime round, they're pretty chill dudes and I find it easy to vibe with them, Isiah on the other hand is temperamental. I love him well the old him, he was so sweet and funny when we talk which is basically never he's so blunt, occasionally we'd buss joke but it's rare. I think he's losing interest. Alyssia keeps suggesting the idea of me dumping him before he dumps me and she suspects he's cheating especially because of his past of cheating on his girlfriends. I don't want to think he's cheating but theres a slight chance.
Isiah didn't have time to talk to me but he had time to post pictures on Instagram. And once again the same girl that kept commenting commented again but this time she wrote "Baby boi😍❤️❤️🔥😘" . Alyssias suspicions had gotten me suspicious so I finally decided to check out this girls page. Her Instagram name was shortbaby_J. Luckily her page wasn't on private and once the page had loaded I immediately recognised her face. It was the same girl that I've been previously seeing, the one I saw in the club and the one that I've seen come out of Isiah's block twice. My heartbeat quickened with fear, surely it's pure coincidence. Alyssia saw me panicking and rushed over to what I was looking at. "Oh shit, Tiana I'm so sorry, look on the bright side, technically we don't know if he doing a ting with her even though that's what the evidence suggests, you of all people you're beautiful, smart, independent, funny he wouldn't cheat on you". I hugged her tightly as tears threatened to fall from my eyes. "Come on TT lets go Nandos, we ain't had that in a while", she smiled. Her solution to everything was either violence or food, I'm glad she chose food.

I changed my top and brushed my hair up into a messy bun. We hopped into my Land Rover and sped down the street to Nandos. We drove past Isiah's house - I couldn't go anywhere without passing it, why'd his house have to be in a bait location. We arrived and got a table for two. We were in mid conversation when we saw one of Isiah's friends come in.  "Hey Alyssia, hey Tiana aka Mrs Isiah" I rolled my eyes and got up to greet him. He sat at a table close by and seemed as though he was waiting for someone. "Should we ask him about Shortbaby_J", whispered Alyssia. I nodded and we went over and sat with Cameron. "Hey Cameron do you know anyone on Instagram called Shortbaby_J", asked Alyssia. "Oh you mean Jani, yeah her parents and my parents are friends". "What's her relationship with Isiah", question Alyssia. "Oh shit well remember that party I had a while back and you two couldn't make it", we nodded our heads, "Well she was there right and so Isiah tried to get her number so she took him away from the crowd to give him the wickedest whine, and I think they dated for a while. To be truthful this wasn't that long ago and I don't remember hearing about them breaking up.", he rubbed the back of his neck and looked sorry. "Thanks Cameron", I smiled weakly. "It's cool, you know I got your back", he smiled.
Me and Alyssia trudged back to our table and ordered our food. I didn't even feel like eating. The food tasted bland and flavourless in my mouth. Alyssia looked at me with worry in her eyes - she could tell I was hurting inside.

We drove back home in silence while the radio buzzed in the background. "I know lets kick it old school", Alyssia suggested choosing a song from her playlist. Ashanti foolish came on. See my days are cold without you but I'm hurting while I'm with you, and my heart can't take no more I keep on running back to you. "Well this song isn't helping the situation", Alyssia mumbled. She changed it to TLC Baby . Long as you know, that I can have any man I want to, baby that's actual and factual but still I choose you to be with me , so you better not flake it up. "Shit Isiah certainly flaked shit up", she whispered in frustration. She skipped the song and put on TLC no scrub. I don't want no scrub a scrub is a guy that can't get no love me. "Fuck sake, this music isn't helping", she screamed. "Bryson Tiller, I'll play Bryson Tiller he's outlet husband he can't let us down", she smiled in relief ... Until Exchange came on. This what what I think bout you, I get in my feelings yeah, I start reminiscing yeah, next time around fuck I want it to be different yeah - she cut off the song and sighed as she prayed that the next song would lighten the mood.... It didn't because it was Bryson Tiller Don't. Don't play with her don't be dishonest. Alyssia was about to change it until I stopped her. " Wait don't change it, I love this song and before I could never relate to it, I feel like he's talking directly to me, keep it on", I hummed along to Bryson's soothing voice. "Maybe Chris is your Bryson Tiller", she mumbled hoping I wouldn't hear her. "Chris is not my Bryson Tiller", I said sternly keeping my eyes in the road. Alyssia gasped in shock at the fact that I actually heard her, "Are you sure cause he could be the one to fix everything after the damage Isiah caused, think about". I rolled my eyes and drove us home.
I crawled up the stairs but stopped on the top stair, I couldn't be bothered to drag myself to my room. Eventually the step was hurting my butt so I went to my room and chilled on my balcony looking up at the stars contemplating life. I heard someone knock on the door gently. "Tiana, you good?". Of course it was Chris. "Why you always popping up, uninvited and by suprise". "Jermaine always bringing me round here so I decided to chill with you, plus you look like you need a hug", he shrugged his shoulders smiling.  He came and sat down on the floor next to me and wrapped his arms around my shoulders. I layed my head in the crook of his neck breathing in his scent. Tears threatened to fall so I sniffed trying to stop them. He kissed my forehead gently. He whispered, "everything will be alright as long as I got you".
