Your P.O.V
"If you're slow, you'll be eating my dust," Racer says to Erza as he dodges her moves.
I watch as Erza gets frustrated and turns her attention to Erik who now has Cubellios by his side.
"That's impressive," he mocks.
"Dance my swords!" Erza calls, letting her array of weapons target Erik and my eyes widen when he just stands in his spot.
Erik closes his eyes and easily dodges every sword that strikes down and it's then I realize it's because he's listening very closely to the wind speed and the way the air is cut from Erza's swords, letting him pinpoint exactly where they'll land. Pure genius.
Erza instantly requips her armor and goes back to targeting Racer. "Yeah, I like fast woman," he says and Erik jumps back into the fray.
"It's no use. I can hear your next move, Titania!" Erik exclaims, landing a blow to Erza's side. "You might as well give up now. You look confused. Having trouble figuring it out? I told you, I hear everything!"
I get distracted as this air-headed fairy continues to try to attack Midnight, although it's clear he's no match. Racer suddenly shows up behind him and throws him to the ground.
"If you wake him up, it'll be your nightmare!" Racer continues to lay into the wizard and I flinch at the amount of force he uses with no remorse.
"I can hear it all, you know. It's like a symphony," I hear Erik say as he dodges Erza's attacks. "Your muscles contracting, every breath that you take in, and all your thoughts."
Out of nowhere, Erik's eyes widen and he jumps back with a dumbfounded look crossing his face. "What the-you were there?" Erza takes the opportunity to lunge at Erik but he swiftly dodges it again.
"Cobra, pick up the pace!" Racer shouts as he and Hoteye go after Erza.
Erik shakes his head. "Cubellios!" he calls. Cubellios shoots into the sky and her fangs pierce through Erza's bicep. "You may be fast, but that won't save you from Cubellios' poison. Enjoy writhing in agony until death claims you."
Erza let's out a blood-curling scream before falling to the ground. I look around and see all the wizards from the legal guilds passed out, but not one of the Oracion Seis members has a single scratch on them.
"How pathetic," Brain mutters before retreating back into the forest.
Sorano and Erik walk over to me and I scan them for injuries. When I look back up at their faces, they have dreadful expressions morphing their features. Before I can ask what's wrong, they lead me away from the wounded wizards and give me looks that say for me to shut my mouth.
An uneasy feeling settles in the pit of my stomach and I hesitantly walk forward as Sorano and Erik guard my sides. I take glances at them from my peripheral vision and from what I can detect, something bad is about to happen.
Is there any way to get out of this? I ask Erik, opening my mind to him. His head snaps over, but he quickly covers it by slowly shaking his head.
I close my thoughts off, not needing to know anything more. Whatever happens, I can already imagine the end result, and it's not looking good for me.
The darkness and light suddenly stir within my mind and I use all my willpower to push it aside. I don't need that stuff clouding my head while I try to think of an escape plan. But how is escape even possible with this guild? I just watched them take down some of the best wizards in Earthland. They even took down freaking Titania.
The walk back to the cave seems longer this time. Maybe it was always a long walk, but last time, it was just me and Erik. We hadn't talked at all, yet it was easy being with him. Even now, although I know my fate, he makes me feel safe. It's a dangerous and treacherous way to feel, but I can't help it.
I see the cave in the distance through the bodies of the other members of the Oracion Seis. Suddenly, they turn right down a path I hadn't noticed before and I reluctantly follow.
Right when I avert my head, I see something exit the cave and my heart stops. Maybe it's my mind playing tricks on me or I'm hallucinating from a whiff of Cubellios's poison. At least I hope, plead, and pray that what I just saw is not what I think it is.
"We shall commence the ritual immediately. If those legal guilds know of the power we possess, then the dark guilds must know of it, too," Brain announces.
Yes, because I am an object and not a person, I mentally scoff.
"Are you sure it's not too early?" Erik questions in his monotone voice.
"We prepared everything while you were playing babysitter." Racer snickers.
I stay as calm as possible as we continue down the path. The ground starts to become muddy the farther we get and I have to use more force to pick my feet up so they don't get stuck.
It doesn't take long for us to approach a large bush. Hoteye and Racer step forward and push them apart as the rest of us step through. My heart picks up speed, but I keep my breathing steady as I become scared, maybe even terrified.
It's my turn to step through the bushes and I hesitantly do so, but what's on the other side nearly makes me faint.
There's a moat around a circular piece of land with long rocks surrounding it. On the land, there's a giant, wooden symbol with black and white flowers on either side. The whole space is enclosed by mossy rocks, almost like a cave, but with a huge opening in the top where the clear, blue sky is seen.
Brain leads the way over the bridge to where the makeshift island is while the rest of us follow with Erik behind me. Something in my head tells me to run, but I know there's no hope in getting away. Sometimes you have to realize when there's no one coming to your rescue and you have to accept your fate.
"Tie her up," Brain commands.
Erik and Sorano immediately take my arms in gentle grips and lead me to the wooden symbol. They turn me around and Erik brings the key to my cuffs out of his pocket and gingerly unlocks them. They fall to the ground and I hold back wincing at the sharp pain but it easily dissipates.
Erik and Sorano take both my hands and begin tying them to the wood. The act reminds me of crucifix and, suddenly, realization comes crashing down like a meteor. My breath comes out in shallow pants as I try to calm myself until Erik takes a step in front of me, his body looming tall and large over my own.
He gives me a tiny nod that I don't know how to interpret. He and Sorano walk back over to the other Oracion Seis members as I have no choice but to stand and watch them.
Racer uses his speed to set up candles all around the island and lights them just the same. The members start forming a circle around the circumference of the island until a voice I recognize stops them.
"I know you guys aren't trying to start without me."
My head snaps up and my heart sinks to my feet as I stare at the person entering the area.
Zenia.
A/N: Sorry that it took me so long to update, I've been so freaking busy. I'm trying to update as much as possible, so here is this for now :)
