The Prayer of King Mosiah

'Oh God, thou who dwellest high in the heavens above,

'I thank thee for thy miraculous and tender mercy to thy servant, and to the kingdom of Zarahemla, and to the people of the Lord, in turning the hearts of my four sons from their sinful ways by visiting them with an angel of God. Thy ways are great and merciful, and thine angels glorious and bold.

'And now at this time, wilt thou grant unto me rest, that I may turn over my kingdom unto my sons. Wilt thou strengthen them to bear all the burdens that the kingdom will bring upon them. Wilt thou grant that they may lead this people in righteousness and never be tempted to return to their evil ways.

'Wilt thou grant unto mine eldest son, Aaron, that he may be a good king, that he may be forevermore an example of righteous stewardship to those whom he serves, that he may be one with them as thou art with us.

'Wilt thou give unto us the gift of eternal life as we steadfastly serve thee, oh God. Wilt thou keep my sons from the temptation of power and authority so that they may have this great gift evermore.

'Bless our kingdom. Bless our people that they may wait for thee, that thy Son may visit us and find a people prepared to meet Him.

'This is my prayer,

'Amen.'
