"Dan." Michael said stiffly, putting his arm around my waist protectively. No one said anything else. Calum peered around the side of the seats, as did Luke, whilst Ashton began to fall asleep in his seat.
I awkwardly shuffled into my seat by the window, whilst Michael sat in his, between Dan and I. He sat as close to me as possible, and as far away from Dan as he could. Although it seemed Dan might have bothered us purposefully when we first re-boarded, he didn't say anything whilst the plane took off, or while it flew for the first hour.
At that point, he sat with a huge pair of headphones on his head, and I was happy he couldn't hear us.
I peered out of the window for a while, admiring the clouds lingering over whatever country we were in, before a sharp pain in my arm interrupted me.
"Ow!" I exclaimed, a few passengers looking at me from their seats, who I smiled a 'sorry' at awkwardly.
"Sorry," Michael laughed, and I noticed Dan glance at us briefly before returning to his music, "Uhm... Y/N?" His tone quietened, and became slightly more serious. I leaned closer to him so I could he what he was about to say. He sighed, running his hand through his hair, before smiling weakly.
"What is it Michael?" I asked, and he smiled at my brief moment of speech. After I said this, Michael looked everywhere but me, staring out of the window behind me for a few moments, before looking intently at me in the eyes.
"I uhm...will you...?" He sighed, before blushing and twidling his fingers on his lap. I smiled, at least having some idea of what he was going to ask, but not wanting to mention it in case I was wrong. After waiting for what seemed like ages, Michael simply said "Damn it." before kissing passionately on the lips.
"What was that for?" I asked when we eventually pulled away, both of us blushing.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked me, and as I was about to open my mouth to answer, a scoff from beside Michael interrupted me. Dan stared at us disgustedly, but before he could make any form of rude remark, Ashton bolted up from his seat, both his hands tangled in his hair, and walked to the back of the plane where the small bathroom was. I shook my head, not being worried about my brother at that moment (he rushed off regularly when he needed to think) and looked at Dan to await whatever insults were about to errupt from his mouth.
"I thought you were already his girlfriend?" He began, sarcasm evident in his voice, "Considering how close you were back at the hotel, I thought you were more than that!" He laughed. I looked at Michael, who was staring at the back of the seat infront of us, whilst balling his fists up in anger. He refrained from saying anything to Dan, who I replied to almost immediately.
"I wasn't his girlfriend when you were with us, and yes, I am now," Michael blushed and grinned wildly at this, "but as far as I'm aware, you have no business in who I date, or who Michael dates, so I suggest you back off, Dan." Dan scoffed, and a flight attendant noticed how irritating he was being, asking if she should call security.
"I wish." Michael scoffed, and I laughed at this. I told the flight attendant everything was fine for now, and she thanked us and walked away, before I sat back, attempting to enjoy the rest of the flight, with my boyfriend.
