I put Ashton's phone on the table, still holding my coffee in one hand, whilst nervously biting the edge of my sweater on the other. I put down my cup, and looked towards where Michael and the boys were, not so long ago. I could see Luke and Calum, but Michael wasn't there, so I assumed he'd gone to get pizza or something (despite it being around 4.30 in the morning).
I didn't know what to say to Ash, so I just stared into the distance for a while, trying to pull together an answer.
"Are you guys dating?" He asked me, and I looked at him straight in the eyes, that looked tired and worried.
I gulped, and felt like I was going to cry because I was so uneasy. I finally managed to pull myself together, before stuttering out an answer quietly.
"We aren't dating, and I'm not his girlfriend." I mumbled simply, whilst playing with a loose thread in one of my sleeves. I wasn't lying, since Michael and I weren't official yet. But I'd missed out the part that we'd kissed. More than once.
"But?" Ash pressed further and I sighed. He didn't look angry at all. In fact, it was quite the opposite, as a small smile appeared on his face. I was about to answer, when a warm hand pressed onto my shoulder reassuringly, and I knew who it was straight away.
"How much of that did you hear?" I asked, without even turning around to face Michael. He pulled up a chair from another table, and sighed before running his hand through his hair.
"Most of it," he smiled at me, before looking at my brother, "Ash mate, I'm sorry I didn't tell you that I kissed Y/N, I mean-"
"You guys kissed?" Ash asked. Damn it, I had hoped to miss that out of the explanation. I looked at Michael, who looked at me with guilt in his eyes, and I could tell he knew I'd missed that out.
"Uhm, yeah. But we aren't dat-"
"Y/N already said that, Michael, but I'm not annoyed if that's what you think." Ash looked at me, and smiled, and I smiled back. We exchanged a few more words, Ash saying he was happy for us, before we were called to the seats where we'd wait to board our plane.

---------------------------------------------------------

After an hour of waiting, we finally boarded our plane. I had brought a small bag with me containing small snacks and a portable charger, and was trying to get it on the hand luggage shelf above my seat. I was only 5'4", so I had to stretch to even reach the shelf, but I wasn't nearly tall enough to put my bag on top.
"I got it." Michael said, and he put his arms around me to push my bag onto the shelf. I turned around, so Michael's lips almost touched mine, and as he was about to kiss me, moved my head, remembering we were on a plane full of people; possibly even some of his fans. Michael frowned, before we both sat in our seats.
There were two sections of seats on the plane, one on either side of the aisle, and each contained around 10 rows of three seats; that was in this part of the plane at least. The two security guys lived in England, so they weren't flying back with us; we'd be meeting our family at the airport in Sydney.
I was seated next to Michael, and the window, whilst the other three boys sat behind us. I made Michael sit in the middle seat, since I didn't like sitting next to strangers, and there was one spare seat on the end of our row.
I was about to plug in my ear buds, when one of the airline staff caught all of the passengers' attention so they could go through all the usual safety procedures. As she was talking, Michael's hand rested on my thigh. I looked up at him, and he wasn't even looking at me, but was, however, smirking. I laughed lightly, before looking out of the window as the plane began to take off.
The sun was just begining to rise, so I took the opportunity to take a picture to post on my twitter. As I opened it, my notifications blew up with tweets people had sent me, most of them being 5SOS 'fans'. I sighed, as I read through some hate I had expected to see after Ash showed me the article. Despite stuff like this usually bothering me, I just ignored it, and rested me head back on the seat to try and get some more sleep before we got back home.
Just as I was about to fall asleep, I felt a soft tap on my arm, and as I opened my eyes I saw Michael resting his head in the same postion on his seat. He was facing me, and smiled sleepily. As he closed his eyes, he turned his head forwards again, and gestured for me to lean on his shoulder so I would fall asleep more comfortably. I rested my head on him, and as I drifted off, I heard small, and quiet whispering behind me.
